THE ODD ODYSSEY

TNOP DESIGN TAKE USERS ON A JOURNEY TO THREE IMAGINARY ISLANDS WHILE CALLING UPON PAPER ITSELF AS MODE OF TRANSPORTATION

The Odd Odyssey is the catalog of Antalis’s latest collections of paper. With the hopes of bringing about a new style of presentation, TNOP DESIGN was assigned to create three volumes of guidebooks that take users on journeys to three imaginary islands. The islands represent three different types of paper with their names being derived from the rearrangement of the names of the papers (Cocoon -> Cocono, Olin -> Loin, Odela -> Lodea).

In the guidebook, different aspects of each island are unfolded through the presentation of a map, geographical conditions, natural resources, language, alphabets, the population’s physical traits, culture, lifestyles and means of communication including the country’s newspapers and magazines. Everyday objects related to each island’s local culture and model are designed for users to punch out of the guidebook and have a little fun with. What’s more, the three catalogs can be put together into one large book by inserting the cover of one into another through a provided pocket.

The Odd Odyssey does more than its job as a paper catalog, as the guidebook presents the qualities of the three papers through its variety of contents and comprehensive printing techniques employed, the graphic design being further up to TNOP DESIGN’s notable high standard.
