BANGKOK SCREENING ROOM

BKKSR BY THREELOGY PROPOSES AN ALTERNATIVE OPTION IN CINEMA VIEWING FOR INTERESTED CINEMAGOERS

After successfully putting together a fun screening session like Open Reel Rooftop two years ago, not to mention the pop-up cinema at last year’s Wonderfruit Festival, the latest efforts of Sarinya Manamuti, Wongsaron Suthikulpanich and Nicholas Hudson-Ellis under the moniker Threelogy is a project that goes by the name of Bangkok Screening Room  (BKKSR).  This is certainly an important step for the trio who wants to propose an alternative option in cinema viewing for interested cinemagoers. BKKSR was initiated in response to Thailand’s lack of independent cinemas, as well as a space for local filmmakers to introduce their works to film enthusiasts. This independent cinema project fills the gap in a complete way, through its offering of a space in Saladaeng Soi 1 that once housed the presence of Whitespace Gallery for many good months. The raw vibe of the concrete that fills the interior of the cinema is now ready for operation, with the coming attractions ranging from Apichartpong Weerasethakul’s “Uncle Boonmee Who Can Recall His Past Lives” and “Comrade Kim Goes Flying” from North Korea to the Hitchcock classic “Vertigo.” Get ready for a new indie cinema experience that the indie film buffs will definitely enjoy.
