DO WE DREAM UNDER THE SAME SKY?

DO WE DREAM UNDER THE SAME SKY, AN EXPERIMENTAL STUDIO DEVELOPMENT PROJECT REALIZED AT THE LAND IN CHIANG MAI BECAME BACKDROP FOR ACTIVITIES RANGING FROM FILM SCREENINGS TO SEMINARS

DO WE DREAM UNDER THE SAME SKY is a part of an experimental studio development project at The Land (an experimental art and agricultural space in Chiang Mai) initiated back in 2013 with an architectural duo from Germany, Nikolaus Hirsch and Michel Müller behind the conception of its design. In 2015, the project was materialized in the form of a 22 x 22 meter bamboo structure and later used as the backdrop for Rirkrit Tiravanija’s cooking activities at Art Basel 2015.

This year, with THE GARDEN – End of Times; Beginning of Times being the theme, ARoS Triennial held at Denmark’s Aarhus brings back DO WE DREAM UNDER THE SAME SKY to present its concept about utopia and sustainable development. The massive bamboo structure was readjusted with an additional frame of climbing plants set around the bamboo framework of the roof being made into the letters ‘DO WE DREAM UNDER THE SAME SKY.’ Activities held within the space ranged from film screenings to seminars. DO WE DREAM UNDER THE SAME SKY will be exhibited in several other spaces before the structure will be shipped back to Thailand and reassembled into a permanent structure on The Land.
