Embrace Social Distancing with the Playful Equipped Set
The COVID-19 pandemic may change people’s behavior forever. Although we cannot predict the future but as designers, it is our responsibility to design something as a solution to the problem. This equipped set for public space furniture tries to create a ‘sensible’ social distancing expressed as playful yet can provide awareness of the situation at all times.
This equipped set is designed to loudly communicate the importance for distancing and safety by using hard rubber injected into a mold in the COVID-19 virus shape and stick to the strap that will hold to the seating shape. The design is intended to function as a partition to separate seat, and at the same time, the shape of COVID-19 virus can immediately urge the awareness of the situation.
The COVID-19 virus shape once it pokes people who sit too close will not be harmful because it is made of hard rubber, which can still bend once pressed. But it will help with keeping the distance in a fun way.
Designed to enhance the flexibility of usage, this playful equipped set can be removed and rearranged at a later time to use with other public space furniture if needed.
