The role of designers is now being challenged to break the traditional ways and to be able to respond quickly to various dynamics in recent days. In this exclusive interview, art4d spoke with Chi Yi Chang, President of Taiwan Design Research Institute (TDRI) – the design research institute that founded the Golden Pin Design Award, an international platform that helps promote design from Taiwan and across Asia on a global scale. The significant role of TDRI is to promote and raise the standards of the design industry in Taiwan. In recent years, TDRI has shifted its role from a design center to a research institute that strives to push forward in applying the design to the industrial sector and society in an effective way.</span></span></p> <p><img fetchpriority="high" decoding="async" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-105350" src="http://art4d.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/02/3W2A0130_low-res.jpg" alt="" width="1500" height="1000" srcset="https://art4d.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/02/3W2A0130_low-res.jpg 1500w, https://art4d.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/02/3W2A0130_low-res-300x200.jpg 300w, https://art4d.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/02/3W2A0130_low-res-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https://art4d.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/02/3W2A0130_low-res-1000x667.jpg 1000w, https://art4d.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/02/3W2A0130_low-res-660x440.jpg 660w, https://art4d.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/02/3W2A0130_low-res-373x248.jpg 373w, https://art4d.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/02/3W2A0130_low-res-600x400.jpg 600w" sizes="(max-width: 1500px) 100vw, 1500px" /></p> <h2><strong><span style="font-family: rm-regular; font-size: 12pt;">art4d: As the president of TDRI, how do you align TDRI’s vision with current trends or challenges in the global design industry, particularly in Taiwan?</span></strong></h2> <p><span style="font-weight: 400; font-family: rm-regular; font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="color: #000000;"><strong>Chi Yi Chang:</strong></span> TDRI is the biggest design platform in Taiwan. Our main goal is to upgrade design to connect to the nation and the world. So, starting in 2023, we set up Taiwan Design Week as a platform to connect Taiwan and the global design community. So in 2023, Taiwan Design Week’s theme was Elastic Bridging, which referred to how Taiwan is a small island but is very flexible. This is why we can maintain the whole ecosystem, from design to manufacturing, even though we are a small island.</span></span></p> <p><img decoding="async" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-105405" src="http://art4d.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/02/3W2A9981_low-res_edit_2.jpg" alt="" width="1500" height="1000" srcset="https://art4d.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/02/3W2A9981_low-res_edit_2.jpg 1500w, https://art4d.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/02/3W2A9981_low-res_edit_2-300x200.jpg 300w, https://art4d.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/02/3W2A9981_low-res_edit_2-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https://art4d.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/02/3W2A9981_low-res_edit_2-1000x667.jpg 1000w, https://art4d.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/02/3W2A9981_low-res_edit_2-660x440.jpg 660w, https://art4d.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/02/3W2A9981_low-res_edit_2-373x248.jpg 373w, https://art4d.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/02/3W2A9981_low-res_edit_2-600x400.jpg 600w" sizes="(max-width: 1500px) 100vw, 1500px" /></p> <p><img decoding="async" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-105402" src="http://art4d.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/02/3W2A0097_low-res.jpg" alt="" width="1500" height="1000" srcset="https://art4d.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/02/3W2A0097_low-res.jpg 1500w, https://art4d.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/02/3W2A0097_low-res-300x200.jpg 300w, https://art4d.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/02/3W2A0097_low-res-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https://art4d.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/02/3W2A0097_low-res-1000x667.jpg 1000w, https://art4d.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/02/3W2A0097_low-res-660x440.jpg 660w, https://art4d.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/02/3W2A0097_low-res-373x248.jpg 373w, https://art4d.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/02/3W2A0097_low-res-600x400.jpg 600w" sizes="(max-width: 1500px) 100vw, 1500px" /></p> <div id="metaslider-id-105371" style="width: 100%;" class="ml-slider-3-94-0 metaslider metaslider-flex metaslider-105371 ml-slider has-onhover-arrows ms-theme-default-base has-dots-nav" role="region" aria-roledescription="Slideshow" aria-label="INTERVIEW - CHI YI CHANG_2"> <div id="metaslider_container_105371"> <div id="metaslider_105371"> <ul class='slides'> <li style="display: block; width: 100%;" class="slide-105375 ms-image " aria-roledescription="slide" aria-label="slide-105375"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" src="https://art4d.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/02/IMG_2058_crop-1023x682.png" height="1000" width="1500" alt="" class="slider-105371 slide-105375" title="IMG_2058_crop" /></li> <li style="display: none; width: 100%;" class="slide-105374 ms-image " aria-roledescription="slide" aria-label="slide-105374"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" src="https://art4d.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/02/IMG_2057_crop-913x609.png" height="1000" width="1500" alt="" class="slider-105371 slide-105374" title="IMG_2057_crop" /><div class="caption-wrap"><div class="caption"><div>Photo courtesy of Taiwan Design Research Institute (TDRI)</div></div></div></li> </ul> </div> </div> </div> <p><span style="font-weight: 400; font-family: rm-regular; font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">But this year, of course, the big target is AI. Taiwan and the whole world are facing new opportunities and new challenges with artificial intelligence. Right now, AI can entirely change how society, industry and designers work. It is going to be a big challenge and also a big opportunity. As you know, Taiwan is good in technology, especially semiconductors. Taiwan also plays an important role in AI supplier manufacturing. So, we should use AI as an opportunity to encourage every designer to try using AI as a copilot or partner to explore the future. That’s why this year we are really focusing on AI. We have conducted two years of research and provide seven AI tools at the Taiwan Design Research Institute. In December 2024, we announced and provided those seven AI tools to every designer in Taiwan and our industry. This will help them understand how to use AI-driven innovation to boost efficiency and be more creative in the future.</span></span></p> <p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-105352" src="http://art4d.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/02/3W2A0155_low-res.jpg" alt="" width="1500" height="1000" srcset="https://art4d.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/02/3W2A0155_low-res.jpg 1500w, https://art4d.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/02/3W2A0155_low-res-300x200.jpg 300w, https://art4d.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/02/3W2A0155_low-res-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https://art4d.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/02/3W2A0155_low-res-1000x667.jpg 1000w, https://art4d.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/02/3W2A0155_low-res-660x440.jpg 660w, https://art4d.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/02/3W2A0155_low-res-373x248.jpg 373w, https://art4d.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/02/3W2A0155_low-res-600x400.jpg 600w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 1500px) 100vw, 1500px" /></p> <h2><span style="color: #000000;"><strong><span style="font-family: rm-regular; font-size: 12pt;">art4d: How does TDRI collaborate with designers and industry stakeholders to bridge the gap between research and practical design applications? </span></strong></span></h2> <p><span style="font-weight: 400; font-family: rm-regular; font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="color: #000000;"><strong>CC:</strong></span> In 2020, the Taiwan Design Center was upgraded to the Taiwan Design Research Institute (TDRI). This means we believe design should not only include promotions or exhibitions. Instead, we should have foresight and look to the future, but to do so, we need research capabilities. So, for the last four years since TDRI was founded, we built our research team to perform R&D. We currently have 200 full-time employees, and our forty researchers do a lot of research. This shows how design should be more or less like science or technology – it should prepare for the future. TDRI is a platform with a lot of collaborative projects with the government, as well as many joint projects with the private sector. We have taken on many larger-scale projects, and as we are a platform, not only can we implement large-scale projects, but also, at the same time, we can also do research. For those kinds of larger-scale projects, we always do research first. So, we have a lot of procedures to make the whole system much better for the future.</span></span></p> <div id="metaslider-id-105363" style="width: 100%;" class="ml-slider-3-94-0 metaslider metaslider-flex metaslider-105363 ml-slider has-onhover-arrows ms-theme-default-base has-dots-nav" role="region" aria-roledescription="Slideshow" aria-label="INTERVIEW - CHI YI CHANG_1"> <div id="metaslider_container_105363"> <div id="metaslider_105363"> <ul class='slides'> <li style="display: block; width: 100%;" class="slide-105364 ms-image " aria-roledescription="slide" aria-label="slide-105364"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" src="https://art4d.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/02/3W2A0154_low-res.jpg" height="1000" width="1500" alt="" class="slider-105363 slide-105364" title="3W2A0154_low res" /></li> <li style="display: none; width: 100%;" class="slide-105365 ms-image " aria-roledescription="slide" aria-label="slide-105365"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" src="https://art4d.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/02/3W2A0156_low-res.jpg" height="1000" width="1500" alt="" class="slider-105363 slide-105365" title="3W2A0156_low res" /></li> <li style="display: none; width: 100%;" class="slide-105366 ms-image " aria-roledescription="slide" aria-label="slide-105366"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" src="https://art4d.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/02/3W2A0158_low-res.jpg" height="1000" width="1500" alt="" class="slider-105363 slide-105366" title="3W2A0158_low res" /></li> <li style="display: none; width: 100%;" class="slide-105367 ms-image " aria-roledescription="slide" aria-label="slide-105367"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" src="https://art4d.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/02/3W2A0159_low-res.jpg" height="1000" width="1500" alt="" class="slider-105363 slide-105367" title="3W2A0159_low res" /></li> <li style="display: none; width: 100%;" class="slide-105368 ms-image " aria-roledescription="slide" aria-label="slide-105368"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" src="https://art4d.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/02/3W2A9836_low-res.jpg" height="1000" width="1500" alt="" class="slider-105363 slide-105368" title="3W2A9836_low res" /></li> <li style="display: none; width: 100%;" class="slide-105369 ms-image " aria-roledescription="slide" aria-label="slide-105369"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" src="https://art4d.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/02/3W2A9841_low-res.jpg" height="1000" width="1500" alt="" class="slider-105363 slide-105369" title="3W2A9841_low res" /></li> </ul> </div> </div> </div> <h2><span style="color: #000000;"><strong><span style="font-family: rm-regular; font-size: 12pt;">art4d: I can see that you have a very big and great research team working on numerous projects. It accomplishes the owner’s challenging brief of simultaneously achieving sustainability and profitability by designing the storefront display around the phrase ‘Products as Decorations.’ The shelving is designed to be lightweight, serving as storage for colorful coffee-bean boxes under normal circumstances. When customers come flooding in to order coffee, the store’s exterior appearance begins to shift, and if all the boxes are pulled out, passersby can glimpse the ambiance inside the shop. Other notable details include a counter inspired by the creases of bean sacks and in-store shelving that can be adjusted to fit products of various sizes.</span></span></p> <div id="metaslider-id-104194" style="width: 100%;" class="ml-slider-3-94-0 metaslider metaslider-flex metaslider-104194 ml-slider has-onhover-arrows ms-theme-default-base has-dots-nav" role="region" aria-roledescription="Slideshow" aria-label="Golden Pin Design Award 2024_06"> <div id="metaslider_container_104194"> <div id="metaslider_104194"> <ul class='slides'> <li style="display: block; width: 100%;" class="slide-104198 ms-image " aria-roledescription="slide" aria-label="slide-104198"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" src="https://art4d.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/beanroom-2_low-res.jpg" height="1500" width="1200" alt="Golden Pin Design Award 2024" class="slider-104194 slide-104198" title="(beanroom) (2)_low res" /><div class="caption-wrap"><div class="caption"><div>(beanroom) by Waterfrom Design Co., Ltd. This 80-year-old school collaborated with YUNGCHEI&YU Architecture to renovate its dim and enclosed rhythm classroom into a multifunctional and aesthetically pleasing space, dubbed the ‘Light Room / Roof’. </span></span></p> <p><span style="font-weight: 400; font-family: rm-regular; font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">The redesigned room now supports a variety of activities, allowing students to learn, create, and display their art in a space that is open and filled with light. This area is also used by parents and community groups for gatherings and dance classes, making it a vibrant hub for both school and community engagement. To counter this, the team reworked the layout, storage, and lighting to create a flexible, open ‘blank space’ suitable for dynamic dance classes as well as for the static annual art exhibitions held by students every April.</span></span></p> <div id="attachment_103606" style="width: 2570px" class="wp-caption aligncenter"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" aria-describedby="caption-attachment-103606" class="wp-image-103606 size-full" src="http://art4d.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/room-with-exhibition_before-1©Taiwan-Design-Research-Institute-scaled.jpg" alt="Light Room / Roof" width="2560" height="1182" srcset="https://art4d.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/room-with-exhibition_before-1©Taiwan-Design-Research-Institute-scaled.jpg 2560w, https://art4d.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/room-with-exhibition_before-1©Taiwan-Design-Research-Institute-300x138.jpg 300w, https://art4d.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/room-with-exhibition_before-1©Taiwan-Design-Research-Institute-1024x473.jpg 1024w, https://art4d.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/room-with-exhibition_before-1©Taiwan-Design-Research-Institute-1536x709.jpg 1536w, https://art4d.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/room-with-exhibition_before-1©Taiwan-Design-Research-Institute-2048x945.jpg 2048w, https://art4d.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/room-with-exhibition_before-1©Taiwan-Design-Research-Institute-1000x462.jpg 1000w, https://art4d.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/room-with-exhibition_before-1©Taiwan-Design-Research-Institute-600x277.jpg 600w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 2560px) 100vw, 2560px" /><p id="caption-attachment-103606" class="wp-caption-text">Rhythm classroom used as an exhibition space before renovation | Photo courtesy of Taiwan Design Research Institute</p></div> <div id="attachment_103603" style="width: 1510px" class="wp-caption aligncenter"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" aria-describedby="caption-attachment-103603" class="wp-image-103603 size-full" src="http://art4d.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/room-with-exhibition_after-2©Golden-Pin-Design-Award.png" alt="Light Room / Roof" width="1500" height="1000" srcset="https://art4d.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/room-with-exhibition_after-2©Golden-Pin-Design-Award.png 1500w, https://art4d.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/room-with-exhibition_after-2©Golden-Pin-Design-Award-300x200.png 300w, https://art4d.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/room-with-exhibition_after-2©Golden-Pin-Design-Award-1024x683.png 1024w, https://art4d.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/room-with-exhibition_after-2©Golden-Pin-Design-Award-1000x667.png 1000w, https://art4d.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/room-with-exhibition_after-2©Golden-Pin-Design-Award-660x440.png 660w, https://art4d.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/room-with-exhibition_after-2©Golden-Pin-Design-Award-373x248.png 373w, https://art4d.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/room-with-exhibition_after-2©Golden-Pin-Design-Award-600x400.png 600w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 1500px) 100vw, 1500px" /><p id="caption-attachment-103603" class="wp-caption-text">Rhythm classroom used as an exhibition space after renovation | Photo courtesy of Golden Pin Design Award</p></div> <p><span style="font-weight: 400; font-family: rm-regular; font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">First, the design team replaced a low wall between the classroom and the adjacent hallway with retractable glass doors, connecting the space to the hall while allowing it to be closed off as needed. To meet exhibition requirements, the design team created movable display cabinets with small rolling wheels, making it easy for students of all grades to reposition them. Additionally, the ceiling lighting is strategically arranged to create reference points for the display cabinets. This allows even younger students to use these light markers to actively participate in the exhibition setup process.</span></span></p> <div id="attachment_103602" style="width: 1510px" class="wp-caption aligncenter"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" aria-describedby="caption-attachment-103602" class="wp-image-103602 size-full" src="http://art4d.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/room-with-exhibition_after-1©Golden-Pin-Design-Award.png" alt="Light Room / Roof" width="1500" height="1000" srcset="https://art4d.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/room-with-exhibition_after-1©Golden-Pin-Design-Award.png 1500w, https://art4d.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/room-with-exhibition_after-1©Golden-Pin-Design-Award-300x200.png 300w, https://art4d.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/room-with-exhibition_after-1©Golden-Pin-Design-Award-1024x683.png 1024w, https://art4d.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/room-with-exhibition_after-1©Golden-Pin-Design-Award-1000x667.png 1000w, https://art4d.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/room-with-exhibition_after-1©Golden-Pin-Design-Award-660x440.png 660w, https://art4d.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/room-with-exhibition_after-1©Golden-Pin-Design-Award-373x248.png 373w, https://art4d.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/room-with-exhibition_after-1©Golden-Pin-Design-Award-600x400.png 600w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 1500px) 100vw, 1500px" /><p id="caption-attachment-103602" class="wp-caption-text">Renovated rhythm classroom used as an exhibition space | Photo courtesy of Golden Pin Design Award</p></div> <p><span style="font-weight: 400; font-family: rm-regular; font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">The impact of the ‘Light Room / Roof’ extends beyond the spatial transformation. In addition to serving as a rhythm classroom and exhibition space for art students, it also accommodates parents and community groups, offering a community activities classroom and a small gathering venue. The spatial design of the ‘Light Room / Roof’ encourages users to explore new ways of engaging with the space. As the design director at YUNGCHEI&YU Architecture explained, “The space can create connections with community activities, extending its impact beyond the revitalization of school spaces.” Moreover, the ‘Light Room / Roof’ has won several prestigious awards, including the 2023 Taiwan Golden Pin Design Award for Spatial and Integrated Design and the Good Design Award from Japan. This recognition has further heightened the school’s emphasis on aesthetic education, leading them to actively seek more projects related to aesthetics, with support from the local government.</span></span></p> <p><span style="font-weight: 400; font-family: rm-regular; font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">“The surroundings that elementary school students grow up in will subtly influence them,” <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1uVsj8sEYjM">said </a>the Design Director of YUNGCHEI&YU Architecture, highlighting the profound impact aesthetics can have on children. The ‘Light Room / Roof’ is not merely a renovation to an old classroom; it is a means of embedding aesthetic education into campus life, allowing students to grow up in a space rich in design. We hope to disrupt established mechanisms through design to create a beautiful learning environment.”</span></p> <div id="attachment_94607" style="width: 1510px" class="wp-caption aligncenter"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" aria-describedby="caption-attachment-94607" class="wp-image-94607 size-full" src="http://art4d.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/Award-Ceremony_GPDA_low-res.jpg" alt="the recycling center" width="1500" height="1000" srcset="https://art4d.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/Award-Ceremony_GPDA_low-res.jpg 1500w, https://art4d.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/Award-Ceremony_GPDA_low-res-300x200.jpg 300w, https://art4d.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/Award-Ceremony_GPDA_low-res-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https://art4d.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/Award-Ceremony_GPDA_low-res-1000x667.jpg 1000w, https://art4d.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/Award-Ceremony_GPDA_low-res-660x440.jpg 660w, https://art4d.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/Award-Ceremony_GPDA_low-res-373x248.jpg 373w, https://art4d.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/Award-Ceremony_GPDA_low-res-600x400.jpg 600w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 1500px) 100vw, 1500px" /><p id="caption-attachment-94607" class="wp-caption-text">Meta House and the Principal of Guang Wu Elementary School delivered their acceptance speech for the Best Design of the Year | Photo courtesy of Golden Pin Design Award</p></div> <p><span style="font-family: rm-regular; font-size: 12pt;">The design team had engaged in thorough communication and understanding with the school during the research and design phase. They assessed historical trash and recycling volumes, and invited students to name the space— ‘Keep Clean’ (a play on ‘Porsche’ in Chinese, implying constant cleanliness). This approach empowered its actual user, with the name given by the students. The Principal expressed gratitude at the award ceremony, thanking the design team for transforming a problematic campus corner into an aesthetic space, linking people, objects, and the environment. </span></p> <p><span style="font-family: rm-regular; font-size: 12pt;">The ‘Design Movement on Campus’ Program goes beyond individual site transformations. It compiles these projects into practical manuals, detailing how schools and design teams identify and analyze spatial problems within campuses, and how designers use design thinking to replan spaces. This allows other schools to apply these experiences to their own environments. Integrating aesthetics and design thinking into campus spaces ensures that students can learn comfortably and enjoyably within their school environment.</span></p> <p><a href="https://www.facebook.com/TWMetaHouse"><span style="font-family: boing-bold; font-size: 14pt; color: #000000;">facebook.com/TWMetaHouse</span></a><br /> <a href="https://campusfield.design.org.tw/zh-TW"><span style="font-family: boing-bold; font-size: 14pt; color: #000000;">campusfield.design.org.tw/zh-TW</span></a></p> <p>_</p> <h2><span style="font-family: rm-regular; font-size: 12pt; color: #000000;"><b>Golden Pin Design Award</b></span></h2> <p><span style="font-family: rm-regular; font-size: 12pt;">The Golden Pin Design Award is the oldest and most renowned professional design award in Taiwan and the Great Chinese market. This innovative design was featured at the London Design Biennale in 2023. The design of the pavilion symbolizes the story of Taiwan by incorporating numerous small mechanical parts. These parts represent the collective strength of small businesses, which play a vital part in the growth of Taiwan as a nation. The next project, Shibuya Font, is dedicated to transforming drawings and handwriting made by individuals with disabilities into typefaces and patterns. These unique creations can then be used to create a wide range of artistic and design works. The process also encourages the development of a strong network of collaborations between the design community, individuals with disabilities, and the government sector. Designed by Toby Ng Design, a Hong Kong-based firm, the financial magazine sets itself apart from others in its genre with a beautifully crafted layout that aims to make finance a more relatable and accessible topic. The logo showcases the number 1611, which represents the birth year of the Dutch East India Company, the world’s first stock market. The details of the logo’s design are just as interesting. The form of the 1611 number is modified to resemble the shape of a trading vessel, which alludes to humans’ long history of trading. </span></p> <div id="attachment_86412" style="width: 1510px" class="wp-caption aligncenter"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" aria-describedby="caption-attachment-86412" class="wp-image-86412 size-full" src="http://art4d.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/12/1611-Magazine-3_low-res.jpg" alt="Golden Pin 2023" width="1500" height="1060" srcset="https://art4d.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/12/1611-Magazine-3_low-res.jpg 1500w, https://art4d.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/12/1611-Magazine-3_low-res-300x212.jpg 300w, https://art4d.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/12/1611-Magazine-3_low-res-1024x724.jpg 1024w, https://art4d.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/12/1611-Magazine-3_low-res-1000x707.jpg 1000w, https://art4d.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/12/1611-Magazine-3_low-res-600x424.jpg 600w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 1500px) 100vw, 1500px" /><p id="caption-attachment-86412" class="wp-caption-text">1611 Magazine by Toby Ng Design</p></div> <div id="attachment_86413" style="width: 1510px" class="wp-caption aligncenter"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" aria-describedby="caption-attachment-86413" class="wp-image-86413 size-full" src="http://art4d.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/12/1611-Magazine-5_low-res.jpg" alt="Golden Pin 2023" width="1500" height="1060" srcset="https://art4d.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/12/1611-Magazine-5_low-res.jpg 1500w, https://art4d.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/12/1611-Magazine-5_low-res-300x212.jpg 300w, https://art4d.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/12/1611-Magazine-5_low-res-1024x724.jpg 1024w, https://art4d.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/12/1611-Magazine-5_low-res-1000x707.jpg 1000w, https://art4d.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/12/1611-Magazine-5_low-res-600x424.jpg 600w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 1500px) 100vw, 1500px" /><p id="caption-attachment-86413" class="wp-caption-text">1611 Magazine by Toby Ng Design</p></div> <p><span style="font-weight: 400; font-family: rm-regular; font-size: 12pt;">Another project that has caught our attention is ‘Fieldoffice Incomplete Works, 1994,’ the monograph of the architectural studio Fieldoffice Architects.
