The crisis has become a chance for humans to make better use of the digital world, which has gradually transformed the way people work. The definitions of space have increasingly encompassed and integrated more online contexts, including how people will continue to live in the physical space that is the real world or how much space needs to be adjusted to accommodate new human behaviors.</span></p> <p><img fetchpriority="high" decoding="async" class="size-large wp-image-48559 alignnone" src="https://art4d.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/04/140957-1024x683.jpg" alt="" width="660" height="440" srcset="https://art4d.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/04/140957-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https://art4d.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/04/140957-300x200.jpg 300w, https://art4d.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/04/140957-1000x667.jpg 1000w, https://art4d.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/04/140957-660x440.jpg 660w, https://art4d.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/04/140957-373x248.jpg 373w, https://art4d.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/04/140957-600x400.jpg 600w, https://art4d.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/04/140957.jpg 1200w" sizes="(max-width: 660px) 100vw, 660px" /></p> <p><span style="font-family: rm-regular; font-size: 12pt;">Similarly, designing the shop of British fashion brand, The Playhouse, in Aoyama, a high-end commercial district in Tokyo, is a challenge that Pan-Projects and Haruki Oku Design need to work out together. The London-based design firm and the Japanese architecture studio set out in spearheading the shop’s design by exploring different possibilities to express the brand’s identity through the building’s existence. The primary objective of the building’s design is about creating an experience between users and the shop’s physical space while simultaneously attracting the attention of new customers who walk by the store.</span></p> <p><img decoding="async" class="size-full wp-image-48562 alignnone" src="https://art4d.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/04/140953.jpg" alt="" width="667" height="1000" srcset="https://art4d.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/04/140953.jpg 667w, https://art4d.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/04/140953-200x300.jpg 200w, https://art4d.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/04/140953-600x900.jpg 600w" sizes="(max-width: 667px) 100vw, 667px" /></p> <p><img decoding="async" class="size-large wp-image-48560 alignnone" src="https://art4d.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/04/140972-1024x683.jpg" alt="" width="660" height="440" srcset="https://art4d.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/04/140972-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https://art4d.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/04/140972-300x200.jpg 300w, https://art4d.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/04/140972-1000x667.jpg 1000w, https://art4d.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/04/140972-660x440.jpg 660w, https://art4d.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/04/140972-373x248.jpg 373w, https://art4d.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/04/140972-600x400.jpg 600w, https://art4d.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/04/140972.jpg 1200w" sizes="(max-width: 660px) 100vw, 660px" /></p> <div id="metaslider-id-48566" style="max-width: 1200px; margin: 0 auto;" class="ml-slider-3-94-0 metaslider metaslider-nivo metaslider-48566 ml-slider ms-theme-default" role="region" aria-roledescription="Slideshow" aria-label="26.05.2021 UPDATE - THE PLAYHOUSE 1"> <div id="metaslider_container_48566"> <div class='slider-wrapper theme-default'><div class='ribbon'></div><div id='metaslider_48566' class='nivoSlider'><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" src="https://art4d.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/04/140945.jpg" height="800" width="1200" title="140945" alt="" class="slider-48566 slide-48570" data-no-lazy="1" /><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" src="https://art4d.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/04/140963-1000x666.jpg" height="800" width="1200" title="140963" alt="" class="slider-48566 slide-48569" data-no-lazy="1" /></div></div> </div> </div> <p><span style="font-family: rm-regular; font-size: 12pt;">With ‘theaters’ being the inspiration, the design picks up on the physical appearance of theater architecture, including the spatial experiences it offers users (there is also an association between theater and the brand’s moniker). Curtains play the protagonist role in spatial allocation. The massive curtains inspired by a front curtain operates on commands, functioning as both the building’s <span style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">façade </span></span>and backdrop for social events.
