JOY OF LIFE – The theme of the second Aichi Triennale is ‘Awakening – Where Are We Standing?’ – Earth, Memory and Resurrection,’ a theme which aims to make us rethink the role of art as Japan continues to recover from the Great East Japan Earthquake and following disasters.

FACE FORWARD – Paul Barnes is a unique breed of graphic designer specializing in typography and publication design. Since 1995 he has lived in London and worked closely with Peter Saville to create identities for Givenchy ‘Original Modern’ for Manchester as well as several music-based projects for bands such as New Order, Joy Division, Gay Dad and Bjork.
AHEAD OF THE CURVE – UNStudio has recently completed their first project in Singapore. The Ardmore Residence, located in a prime location close to the Orchard Road luxury shopping district in Singapore, is based on an idea of a living natural landscape native to the ‘Garden City.’
PICKS OF THE YEAR – Initiated in 2004, the Brandnew Art Project 2013 celebrates the annual event’s 9th edition. This year’s emerging Singapore-based curator, Ms Isabel Ching, has selected six young Thai artists to display what the up-and-coming have to say at three galleries.
