The inception of IDIN Architects traces back 20 years ago with Jeravej Hongsakul, an architect who simply wanted to design every day, who candidly shared that the founding of the office wasn’t something he had meticulously planned, who never had a fixed destination in life – guided by the principle that ‘whatever happens, happens for the best.’

In terms of works, IDIN Architects consistently delivers creations that resonate with contemporary times, despite their diversity in program or era. From Phuket Gateway, serving as a landmark for Phuket province, to NANA Coffee Roasters Bangna, functioning as a café, these projects embody a shared approach. They directly address architectural questions in the simplest way possible and let the form and beauty emerge naturally without the need for excessive embellishment.

This edition of the art4d studio monograph seeks to provide an in-depth exploration of IDIN Architects’ design philosophy, characterized by its straightforwardness and focus on the present, articulated through three core principles—simplicity, directness, and freedom from temporal constraints. The first is ‘In Design’, exploring the influence of interior spaces. Next is ‘Image’, reflecting the dialogue between architecture and its surrounding environment. And finally, ‘Narrative’, uncovering the deeper meanings and stories embedded within each work. Additionally, the monograph features an interview with Jeravej Hongsakul, the founder of IDIN Architects, discussing various topics including architectural principles, journey, and personal perspectives on life.

ย้อนไปเมื่อ 20 ปีก่อนที่ IDIN Architects ได้ถือกำเนิดขึ้นโดยจีรเวช หงสกุล สถาปนิกที่แค่อยากทำงานออกแบบไปทุกวัน คนที่บอกกับเราว่าเปิดออฟฟิศด้วยความจับพลัดจับผลู และไม่ได้มีปลายทางของชีวิตที่ตายตัว แค่ใช้ชีวิตอย่างเต็มที่ในทุกๆ วันด้วยความเชื่อว่า ‘สิ่งใดเกิดขึ้นสิ่งนั้นดีเสมอ’
