CONCRETE EXERCISE- Kulapat Yantrasast designed his own house in Venice, California based on a concrete structure. We know that Yantrasast worked with Tadao Ando for some years, however, the concrete approach he takes with this house proves entirely different from that of Ando’s signature.
KEEPING THE DIGNITY- Yang Zhao of Zhaoyang Architects and Jan Opdekamp of 51N4E spoke at the 16th Asian Congress of Architects under the theme ‘RejuveNATION.’ We caught up with them to discuss their projects further and the situations they face in their secret works.

WHERE THE LANTERN GROWS- Charoen Aksorn Holding Group called upon the architects of the Arsom Silp Institute of Arts to design its Headquarters building, a request that resulted in the creation of a massive giant dome reflecting their status serving as a leader in the paper publishing industry for over 40 years through the symbolic form of a ‘paper lantern.’
SEEING AND BEING SEEN- Joo Choon Lin has been experimenting with a range of materials and media as a means of examining parallels between visual and tactile experiences. Underlying Joo’s practice is her longstanding investigation into the relations between appearance and essence.
INFORMALLY FORMAL- The Knowledge Center of Chachoengsao (KCC), with form reminiscent of four stacking books, is an example of a simple architecture with a straightforward function.
