Amidst the rapid advancement of architectural design and lighting technology, the world-renowned Guangzhou International Lighting Exhibition (GILE) 2026 returns from 9 – 12 June 2026 at the China Import and Export Fair Complex in Guangzhou. Held under the theme ‘Light-Enhanced Living’, the exhibition explores the transformative ways in which light can reshape our everyday lives.

This year’s defining highlight is the debut of the ‘China Lighting Capital Hall’ in Hall 8.1, Area A. This zone showcases the distinct identity and immense potential of Guzhen, widely recognized as the ‘Lighting Capital of China’ and one of the world’s premier hubs for lighting manufacturing and trade, establishing a dynamic bridge between local design and the global market.

Organized with the support of government and major industry bodies, including the Bureau of Commerce of Zhongshan City and the Guzhen Town People’s Government, alongside chamber of commerce networks and e-commerce partners, this zone aims to empower local enterprises through structured business matching and international promotion, effectively connecting global buyers with Chinese lighting products, technical capabilities, and leading brands.

A key highlight of this edition is the collective effort to transcend the traditional image of a manufacturing hub, transforming the space into a nexus for supply chains, advanced engineering, and media. This integration drives original design alongside smart lighting, while digital business matching opens dialogues between global buyers and manufacturers. By showcasing lighting innovations that seamlessly balance advanced functionality with aesthetic value, the event tangibly demonstrates Guzhen’s design potential and paves the way for Chinese brands to step onto the international stage.

Furthermore, in a borderless world where commerce thrives globally through online platforms, the organizers have brought together industry giants like Amazon, Wayfair, and TikTok Shop to curate the ‘Cross-border E-commerce’ zone. This initiative connects over 500 home decor buyers and architects with 30 top-tier manufacturers from Guzhen, all of whom are fully equipped with international logistics capabilities and global certification standards.

The overall zone functions as a comprehensive narrative of Guzhen’s lighting industry, capturing everything from architectural and decorative lighting trends to outdoor illumination, eco-friendly innovations, and Human-Centric Lighting (HCL)—a defining megatrend in today’s architectural world.

Held concurrently with Guangzhou Electrical Building Technology (GEBT), GILE is part of Messe Frankfurt’s global Light + Building network. The expansion of GILE through this new zone marks a significant milestone, reflecting how Asia’s lighting industry is rising to become a compelling new force shaping the global design market.
