art4d x THINKK Studio Thinkk Again

The idea for the book THINKK Studio : Thinkk Again was born in the white meeting room of the THINKK Studio office. On that day, Decha Archjananun and Ploypan Theerachai opened hundreds of slides to recount the studio’s work over more than a decade.

THINKK Studio has long accumulated experience in the design industry, sweeping design awards both domestically and internationally. The works showcased in the slides, ranging from piggy banks, lamps, chairs, and sofas, to acoustic panels and interior design, prove their capability across diverse scales. More importantly, they demonstrate the sharp wit of encouraging people to ‘Think Again’; that design work doesn’t need to follow old paths. A chair can become a tool for teaching craftsmanship, and lottery scraps can be transformed into valuable material. Furthermore, the book reveals the studio’s role extending beyond the design framework and into research and exhibition work, such as elevating Thai handicrafts or raising fresh questions about the role of the chair.

This book is not a ‘definitive manual’ dictating how design must be done.
