Chameleon Architecture เปรียบสถาปัตยกรรมเสมือนกิ้งก่า ที่มีการพลิกแพลง ปรับตัว และวิวัฒนาการอย่างต่อเนื่อง ผ่านการหลอมรวมระหว่างงานค้นคว้า  12 แห่ง และงานออกแบบ 12 โครงการที่ออกแบบโดยสองสถาปนิก เจอร์รี่ หง (Jenchieh Hung) และกุลธิดา ทรงกิตติภักดี จาก HAS design and research ชื่อของบริษัท HAS – Hung And Songkittipakdee นอกจากจะมาจากนามสกุลของผู้ก่อตั้งทั้งสองแล้ว ยังแฝงแนวคิดของคำว่า ‘มี’ ที่หมายถึง การทำงานซึ่งเชื่อมโยงระหว่างการค้นคว้าและการออกแบบอย่างลึกซึ้ง กิ้งก่าในที่นี้ไม่เพียงเป็นสัญลักษณ์ของการปรับตัวในโลกสถาปัตยกรรม แต่ยังสะท้อนถึงการเติบโตและพัฒนาการที่สอดคล้องกับบริบทของสังคมและสิ่งแวดล้อมที่เปลี่ยนแปลงอยู่ตลอดเวลา แนวคิดนี้ถูกถ่ายทอดผ่านโครงการที่หยั่งรากลึกในบริบทท้องถิ่น โดยเฉพาะในประเทศไทย จีน และประเทศอื่นๆ ในเอเชีย หนังสือเล่มนี้ชวนให้ผู้อ่านพิจารณาศักยภาพของสถาปัตยกรรมในการสร้างพื้นที่ที่ยั่งยืน ยืดหยุ่น และใช้งานได้จริง ซึ่งสามารถปรับตัวและกลมกลืนไปกับสภาพแวดล้อมรอบตัวได้อย่างลงตัว
