I’m Candy Bird from Taiwan, Taipei.
Graffiti, street art, murals and comics.
Five years ago, I started to do graffiti. Before that I was an oil painter.
I have been to Tokyo, Sao Paulo, Bangkok, Yangon and New York….
I like traveling with my art.
Just love it !
WHERE DO YOU GO, OR WHAT DO YOU DO, WHEN YOU GET STUCK ON A PROJECT?
I try to go outside and do something that has nothing to do with the project and art. For example, I like to go to the movies or just stare into space. Staying in a place for a long time makes me feel bored. So I always like to go outside or travel to foreign countries.
WHAT ARE YOU WORKING ON CURRENTLY?
Now, I’m preparing my second solo show that will be held at March 2016 in the Taipei Liang Gallery. I try to explore the relationships between urban space and the indoor gallery in my works.
IF YOU COULD INVITE ANY ARTIST/DESIGNER/CREATIVE OUT FOR COFFEE,
WHO WOULD YOU CHOOSE AND WHY ?
I would invite the Japanese artist, Tetsuya Ishida. I think he is one of the best artists in the world. And his works let me know what art was when I decided to do graffiti. I like the creative metaphor in his painting which always reminds me of the reality of this society. I would like to invite him to eat breakfast together and say hello to him. Unfortunately, Tetsuya Ishida passed away in 2005.
WHAT DESIGN TOOL CAN YOU NOT LIVE WITHOUT?
