WHY
In our practice we are predominantly interested in exploration of phenomenological aspects of existing and created spaces. We enjoy creation of sincere architecture, true to its materiality and context, in dialogue with its function and surrounding. Differentiating between interiors and exteriors we often combine varying sensibilities within one project depending on program and setting.
We are eager to explore, learn and experiment with unwavering sense of responsibility by venturing into various creative fields, what we believe helps develop core focus of our practice which is architecture.
HOW WOULD YOU DEFINE CREATIVITY?
In architectural context we see creativity as an intellectual process which reaches much further than mere problem solving and is capped off by integration of abstract and poetic ideas.
DESCRIBE YOUR PRACTICE IN THREE WORDS.
Space – Section – Atmosphere.
WHERE DO YOU GO, OR WHAT DO YOU DO WHEN YOU GET STUCK ON A PROJECT?
Wherever else, to work on a different project, to have a drink, to play basketball, watch a movie…
WHAT PROJECT ARE YOU MOST PROUD OF?
Our practice and our knowledge are both evolving. So far, we are happy with the playful interactions stimulated by our street installation city bubbles in Singapore, we think that upcoming school projects Baan Wang Ree and Baan Nong Kae respond well to climatic conditions, functional requirements, construction and budgetary constraints and local cultural background of Eastern Thailand and we believe that our competition entry for tenement house in Lodz, Poland would prove a successful addition to historical city.
IF YOU COULD INVITE ANY CREATIVE OUT FOR COFFEE, WHO WOULD YOU CHOOSE AND WHY?
We would love to catch up with David Van Severen from OFFICE kgdvs and Yung Ho Chang, whom we hosted in Thailand before. Other than that, we are inspired by and would love to meet Adam Caruso, Valerio Olgiati, Pezo von Ellrichshausen, Jacques Herzog, Aires Mateus, Paulo Mendes da Rocha, Gion Caminada, at the top of a very long list of masters. We believe that these architects in their works, immune to temporary trends and superficiality are successful in capturing essential architectural qualities, something we strive to achieve on our own.
