THE CHIANG MAI OF 2016 IS NOT ONLY SWAMPED WITH CAFES AND COFFEE JOINTS, AS THE GROWTH OF THE CITY’S ART COMMUNITY CONTINUES TO BE JUST AS PROLIFIC…
Creative venues are blossoming with great diversity, from galleries and retail shops to boutique hotels. Art Mai Gallery Hotel joins the rush with its artist signature concept that calls upon the famous faces of Thailand’s creative scene such as Charoon Boonsuan, Thanachai Ujjin, Sakwut Wisesmanee, Chalit Nakpawan, Tachamapan Chanchamrassang (Pomme Chan) and Jitsing Somboon to design the hotel’s rooms with their own individual artistic styles. But is the place as arty as the hotel’s name in Thai implies? We can say that it would definitely take awhile to make the rounds of all the rooms, but the one you’re looking at is the work of Jitsing Somboon with its 70s Rock and Roll inspired vibe that has become a strong characteristic of the artist’s creations as of late. The soft and white ambience of the room shows great contrast with the choice of materials whose details and magnitude draw users in for a journey of the imagination. Art Mai Gallery Hotel is located on Nimmanhaemin Road Soi 3. So be there or be square. Location check-in– very arty!
