THE CITY’S LARGEST URBAN ROOFTOP GARDEN BY BANGKOK-BASED LANDPROCESS GROWS AGRICULTURAL INNOVATIONS THROUGH BOTH ITS HORTICULTURE AND ITS LEARNING CENTER
Siam Green Sky is a brand new landmark built on the top 7th floor of the Siam Square One shopping center. As the largest urban rooftop garden in Thailand, the Siam Green Sky will function as a learning center for agricultural innovations and horticulture as well as a source of crops, fruits, and flowers for tourists, students and visitors.
The concept of the layout divides the space into three parts consisting of plots for innovative farming, multifarious plants and garden plants. The largest of the three, the innovative farming plot, is home to a solar panel system and provides visitors the chance to observe the process of making organic fertilizer from stored waste, cultivation of plants suitable for the area, as well as plantations of beautiful flowers, edible plants, herbs and rice.
The multifarious plants plot is devoted to the growth of various types of plants displayed across different sections such as the international plants section and decorative edible plants area where visitors can utilize a guide to grow their own vegetables and edible plants. The third section is aimed at those lacking a green thumb and exhibits easy to grow native plants that prove viable without the need for extra maintenance. In addition, works of art are to be installed around the area, changing the surface of the ventilation pipes themselves into canvases for paintings.
