ในช่วงสัปดาห์ที่ผ่านมานี้ ตู้โทรศัพท์เก่าๆ ตู้หนึ่งในเกาะอังกฤษ ได้เป็นพื้นที่ในการรับฟังความเห็นเกี่ยวกับข้อตกลง Brexit ของสหราชอาณาจักร ที่การแยกตัวออกจากสหภาพยุโรปจะมีผลในวันที่ 29 มีนาคมที่จะถึงนี้ และเป็นเรื่องปกติที่ใช่ว่าจะมีคนที่เห็นด้วยทั้งหมด ในหมู่คนอังกฤษเองก็ยังเกิดข้อถกเถียงที่ยังเสียงแตก จากผลประชามติล่าสุดพบว่า ผู้ที่โหวตเห็นชอบส่วนใหญ่ล้วนแต่เป็นผู้มีอายุ สวนทางกับความคิดของคนรุ่นใหม่จำนวนมากที่ไม่เห็นด้วยกับข้อตกลงนี้ ประเด็นข้างต้นกลายเป็นที่มาของ +44 ผลงาน interactive art โดย Joe Sweeney ศิลปินชาวอังกฤษ ประติมากรรมที่จำลองมาจากตู้โทรศัพท์เก่ายุค 90s ในเกาะอังกฤษ ที่ Sweeney นำไปติดตั้งบริเวณแหลม Dungeness ชายฝั่งตะวันออกเฉียงใต้ของอังกฤษ ซึ่งเป็นพรมแดนที่อยู่ใกล้กับทวีปยุโรปมากที่สุด พร้อมกับเชื้อเชิญให้ผู้คนแบ่งปันความรู้สึกที่มีต่อข้อตกลง Brexit ด้วยการฝากข้อความเข้ามาทางเว็บไซต์ leaveamessage4europe.com
Over the past weekend, an old phone booth in England becomes a space where public’s opinions about Brexit, which is about to come into effect on 29th March of this year. The latest referendum reveals that the majority of Yes voters are senior citizens. The result goes against the opinions of the young demographic whose ‘No’ votes reveal reflects the disagreement they had for United Kingdom’s withdrawal from the EU. All of the aforementioned are included in +44, an interactive art piece by Britain artist, Joe Sweeney. The sculpture simulates the design of an old phone booth from the 1990s in the UK, in which Sweeney installs on Dungeness beach, an area on the southeast coast of England, and the country’s closest territory to the European continent. The work invites people to share their feelings on Brexit results by leaving messages on leaveamessage4europe.com.

The project ‘Animistic Apparatus’ is opening for prospective applicants, welcoming artists, curators, writers, amateur technicians and mechanics to join its activities, which will be held as a collaborative event with the local mobile cinema operators in Udon Thani. UNKNOWN ASIA sets fort to organize an activity that will provide some useful information about the participation UNKNOWN ASIA ART EXCHANGE OSAKA 2019 for Thai artists and designers. Held for five consecutive years, UNKNOWN ASIA promotes the exchange of knowledge and experiences between creative workers from different Asian countries. The organizing team from Japan will be giving lecture about all things interesting about the past five editions of the event including some constructive criticism and suggestion on the portfolios of participants who are interested in submitting the portfolio.
