HOW WOULD YOU DEFINE CREATIVITY?
Creativity is being able to recognize challenges, and through our imagination, create various possibilities and solutions to these problems.
DESCRIBE YOUR PRACTICE IN THREE WORDS.
Philippine-made, thoughtful, creative
WHERE DO YOU GO, OR WHAT DO YOU DO WHEN YOU GET STUCK ON A PROJECT?
I play video games, drink coffee, or spend time working on a personal project.
WHAT PROJECT ARE YOU MOST PROUD OF?
We are proud we developed the brand identity of the University of the Philippines’ athletic program (http://plus63.com/UP-Fighting-Maroons). We designed the logo, the typeface (https://www.maroons.xyz/), and the apparel of the different varsity teams. It’s rare for a university, especially for a state university, to have an extensive brand identity design project.

IF YOU COULD INVITE ANY CREATIVE OUT FOR COFFEE, WHO WOULD YOU CHOOSE AND WHY?
I’d love to hear from Michael Bierut on what it’s like being a partner at Pentagram, possibly the group with the largest concentration of legendary designers. I want to know about their work process, what they talk about among themselves, and the projects they’re working on. I’m pretty sure I’ll learn a lot from that conversation.
