WHO
I’m Vacharapong Buranakitjaroen or Vachboy. I graduated from the faculty of painting, sculpture and graphic arts, Silpakorn University.
WHAT
If I create some artwork, I would like to create it from what I really feel. One of the feelings which I always understand and express myself with is about passion and hope. It is like a moment that we need to endure to get through something, with hope leading life. Similar to a flower which is waiting to bloom and let people see it and this is a backstory behind a main character named ‘hope’ who I will tell some stories through my artwork.

The fallen petals
WHEN
After working in advertising for a while, having learned so many sides of life such as working, dreams and reality. This allowed me to gather and arrange all the thoughts and stories I needed to tell so I began developing various styles and techniques to express my work to people.
WHERE
I have grown up in a capital city like Bangkok since I was born and I am familiar with the ways of the metropolitan as well as my family and relatives. There is no doubt that this city enlightens perspectives towards my world more or less. It is unsurprising that I, myself, have talked about hope and dreams.

Be Out of It
WHY
I have been in a circumstance where no one understood me before so I understand these feelings well and hope many works I express have some parts in making the people happier or having the ability to enlighten hope in themselves.

I hope you stay with me forever
How do you define your own style of work?
In terms of form, process and technique, if I had to define it, I would define it as neo pop art. But in reality, it does not have fixed rules. One day, my work might go beyond this.
What inspires you and what principles do you apply to each project?
My inspiration mostly comes from life experiences narrated through my own expressions. The work itself may look playful and vividly colorful yet actually, every work always has hidden meanings. I consider the balance in each work, making sure there is not too much or too little.

Which project are you most proud of and why?
I am proud of every project regardless of small or big one. It seems like I have told many stories through different media and circumstances.
Which part of the process do you enjoy the most during work?
I like a stage of drawing ideas the most. To see a shape gradually appear on a white paper has lots of possibilities in my head that were expressed. I think this stage is very fascinating.

I hope that I will not give up on myself
If you could invite any ‘creative’ for a coffee, who would it be and why?
If I have to choose, I genuinely cannot decide. But I would like to drink coffee with a creative who has unique work, to talk and exchange ideas. Regardless of which industry they are in, that sounds quite fun.
