There is something unique about AAd – Ayutt and Associates design’s architecture. It’s conceived from the intention to design a space that users are able to engage with and enjoy while at the same time the environment is improved. The diversity of their projects encompasses residential projects, commercial spaces, public buildings as well as exhibition spaces, causing the AAd to be recognized at both national and international levels.
art4d: Who has been the most influential figure for you regarding the way you work?
AAd: Myself. The way I work and the way I live are the results of my own processed thoughts. External factors contribute as positive alternatives whether it’s the clients, consultants, colleagues, the younger members in my team, the designers and architects I idolize, including the people who come into my life, all of these people are my influences; important Lego pieces of my experiences, ideas and creativity.
But I am the one with the power and freedom to process who should be allowed to take part in the decision-making and at which time (I don’t call that an influence). I don’t try to compete with anyone in the way I work or live my life. I compete with my own present, so the person I allow to be a part of these processes the most is myself.
art4d: Do you think freedom of expression affects one’s creative ability?
AAd: I believe that freedom of expression is important because it gives us an opportunity to create and express new points in new ways that are different. But this freedom requires that people have the skills, potential, and understanding needed to be effective. Otherwise, it can be a disadvantage for one’s creative ability.
Especially for architects, creativity is an important force for developing an architect’s knowledge to create their work. When we can bring each opinion together, this multiplies our creativity and makes it more powerful.
art4d: What is creativity to you?
AAd: The management of knowledge, experience, taste and vision through one’s skills to solve problems and make things better and in a new way for themselves and others.
art4d: What do you wish you would have told yourself 10 years ago?
AAd: Being an architect is exhausting, stressful, forced and you will have no time and be quite poor. But, you’ll be happy because you can do what you love. It will be everything in your life like your family. Thanks for choosing this way.
art4d: What is your opinion on the labeling of artists and designers according to their gender, do you think such categorization will become a problem and is it a point of view that follows the conventional notion of binary opposition?
AAd: I think the prefix about gender, It has a direct impact on some careers. Because some conservatives think it is related to credibility in a career. Sexual diversity is contrary to what society is expected to express. Potential and ability in some careers isn’t derived from gender, which may or may not be different from social expectations, so sexual identity almost reduces the ability of those expectations.
But for me, the work shows how human value is not dependent upon gender, nationality, skin color or age.

art4d: ใครที่มีอิทธิพลต่อการทำงานของคุณที่สุด
AAd: “ตัวเอง” เพราะงานทุกงานของ ผม (รวมถึงการใช้ชีวิต) มันเกิดจากการประมวลผลของผมเอง โดยมีปัจจัยภายนอกมาเป็นทางเลือกในการทำงานของผมให้ดีขึ้น เช่น ลูกค้า, ที่ปรึกษา, เพื่อนร่วมงาน, น้องในทีม, ผู้ออกแบบใน ดวงใจ หรือ idol, สถาปนิกท่านอื่น รวมถึงคนทุกคนที่เข้ามาในชีวิตของผม ล้วนเป็นผู้มีอิทธิพลหรือเลโก้ชิ้นสำคัญต่อประสบการณ์ ความคิด การสร้างสรรค์งานของผมด้วยกันทั้งสิ้น
ผมคือคนเดียวที่มีอำนาจและอิสระในการประมวลผลว่าใครในช่วงเวลาไหนควรจะเข้ามามีส่วนในการให้ผมใช้เป็นค่าน้ำหนักตัดสินใจ (ผมไม่เรียกว่าอิทธิพล) ในงานแต่ละชิ้น (รวมถึงชีวิต) ของผม ผมไม่ทำงานแข่งกับใคร ผมทำงานแข่งกับปัจจุบันของตัวเองเท่านั้น ดังนั้นคนที่ผมให้น้ำหนักมากที่สุดก็คือตัวผมเอง
art4d: เสรีภาพในการแสดงความคิดเห็น ส่งผลต่อขีดความสามารถในการ “คิดสร้างสรรค์” จริงหรือไม่ ในความคิดของคุณ
AAd: ผมเชื่อว่าเสรีภาพในการแสดงความคิดนั้นเป็นสิ่งที่ดีและจะเป็นพลังขับที่สำคัญ เพราะมันทำให้เรามีโอกาสสร้างสรรค์ความคิดต่างๆ ในมุมมองใหม่ๆ ที่อาจแตกต่างกันขึ้นได้อีกมาก แต่การแสดงเสรีภาพนี้ก็จำเป็นที่คนคิดจะต้องมีทักษะ มีศักยภาพ มีความรู้ความเข้าใจ รู้จักใช้ความคิดได้อย่างดี มีเหตุผลและมีประสิทธิภาพด้วย เพราะไม่เช่นนั้นจะกลายเป็นผลเสียที่สำคัญในการเขียนกรอบความคิดสร้างสรรค์ให้แคบลง
ยิ่งในวิชาชีพสถาปนิกแล้วการเห็นต่างแบบมีเหตุผลจะเป็นแรงขับที่สำคัญในการพัฒนาองค์ความรู้ของผู้ออกแบบเอง ให้เป็นพื้นฐานที่สำคัญต่อไปในการสร้างสรรค์ผลงานแต่ละชิ้น เพราะการที่เราสามารถนำเสรีภาพของความสร้างสรรค์ของคนแต่ละคนมารวมกันได้ มันจะทำให้พลังสร้างสรรค์ของเรานั้นทวีคูณอีกหลายเท่าตัว
art4d: สำหรับคุณแล้ว คำว่า “สร้างสรรค์” คืออะไร
AAd: คือการจัดสรรองค์ความรู้ ประสบการณ์ รสนิยม การมองการณ์ไกล โดยใช้ทักษะส่วนตัวเพื่อใช้แก้สิ่งที่เป็นปัญหา แล้วสร้างมันให้ดีขึ้นกว่าเดิมในมุมมองที่ใหม่ขึ้น เพื่อตัวเองและคนอื่น
art4d: อยากบอกอะไรกับตัวเองเมื่อ 10 ปีก่อน
AAd: เป็นสถาปนิกเหนื่อย เครียด กดดัน ไม่มีเวลา แถมแอบจนนะมึง

แต่มึงจะโคตรมีความสุขเลยเพราะมึงได้ทำในสิ่งที่มึงรัก และมันจะเป็นทุกอย่างในชีวิตและครอบครัวมึง ขอบคุณมึงมากที่เลือกเดินมาเส้นทางนี้
art4d: คิดอย่างไรกับ label ศิลปินหญิง/ศิลปินชาย หรือดีไซเนอร์หญิง/ดีไซเนอร์ชาย คิดว่าการแบ่งแยกแบบนี้เป็นปัญหา และยังเป็นการมองที่ยังติดอยู่กับวิธีคิดแบบคู่ตรงข้ามแบบเดิมๆ หรือไม่?
AAd: ผมมองว่าคำนำหน้าที่เกี่ยวกับเพศ พอมันเป็นวิชาชีพบางอย่างแล้วมันก็มีผลกระทบโดยตรง เพราะคนที่เป็นพวกอนุรักษ์นิยมบางคน มองว่ามันเกี่ยวกับเรื่องความน่าเชื่อถือในสายวิชาชีพ เรื่องความหลากหลายทางเพศมันไปขัดกันกับสิ่งที่สังคมคาดหวังให้แสดงออก การตีความสามารถและศักยภาพของคนบางวิชาชีพจะไม่ถูกมองเลยเพราะติดเรื่องเพศที่แตกต่างจากความคาดหวังของสังคม ความเป็นอัตลักษณ์ทางเพศมันไปลดการดูเรื่องความสามารถไปเกือบหมด
แต่สำหรับผม ผมวัดคุณค่าของคนทำงานจาก “งาน” ของเขา ไม่ใช่เพศ เชื้อชาติ สีผิว หรืออายุของเขา
