If we were to discuss the functional aspects of laminate as a material for interior decoration in this day and age, what’s particularly important, besides durability and safety, are the aesthetic qualities that resonate with people’s changing lifestyles including manufacturing innovations that are friendlier to the environment.
TAK, one of the leading importers of decorative materials, launches a new collection of laminate products, highlighting the importance of residential design that corresponds with demands and expectations of today’s consumers. Features ranging from aesthetic values to well-being and environmental sustainability through products under the four brands, namely, Lamitak, Dekodur, O2 Plus and Forescolor, which are distinctive for their superior designs, functionalities and manufacturing processes.

The worldwide impacts of COVID-19 pandemic have caused the design industry to rethink how private and public spaces can be realized. A new focus has been put on the well-being and convenience in people’s daily working and living experiences, including the creation of a child and elderly friendly environment. Lamitak Exclusive Collection 2021 consists of five series of products in total. Protak comes with fingerprint resistant features and the ability to destroy and suppress the growth of microorganisms such as bacteria and fungi while the matte surface is soft and scratch resistant, making it easy to maintain.
A centrepiece of the Exclusive Collection, the new Savile laminates are featured in a special showcase at Lamitak Studio.
The Savile showcase also features Compact by Lamitak, a customisable option for counter tops.
The Solid Core series can take any interior space to another level with its seamless surface, patterns and textural details that are impressively similar to real concrete. Savile, the repeatable chevron pattern inspired by the sophistication of London’s prominent fashion district, Savile Row, is a perfect choice for projects that seek to be different or achieve the contemporary classic style that brings a unique appeal to a space.

Forescolor
The organic product line that has obtained a global standard adds a new dimension to interior decorations with the ‘Add more color to your life’ concept. Forescolor is a type of engineered wood, known as Creative Color Board with its wooden color and seamless, unified texture that fill interior spaces a with natural look and feel. The product is environmentally friendly with minimized use of formaldehyde and the use of natural soy adhesive.
Forescolor offers nine color variations and thickness from 5 mm. to 18 mm. The product’s key features include 1) Moisture Barrier’s high resistance to moisture is a result of the high level of melamine in the resin, making it an ideal option for bathroom and kitchen surfaces 2) Colored from surface and all the way through 3) EO (E Zero) Guaranteed by the Republic of South Korea’s standard for its low formaldehyde release and use of organic dyeing colors 4) Tool Friendly– due to the high melamine level and density of the resin, the laminate requires no or merely minimal sand polishing after it has been manufactured. The product’s additional features such as flame-retardants are customizable with No Added Formaldehyde and pre-coated finish, which together brings the laminate even greater durability.
O2 Plus
The new, up-and-coming brand that has brought excitement to the market in the past three years stands out and differentiates itself from O2 with a fresher spirit. Bringing minimalistic, cool and fun designs with the ‘Laminates Made Different’ concept while maintaining all the superlative physical qualities and attributes.
The first collection, ‘PLAY’ is influenced by the idiosyncratic elements of modern classic aesthetics and eye-catching contemporary patterns that can be mixed and matched to create a unique original mood and tone. The ‘PLAY’ collection comprises of Strypes, the laminate that takes inspiration from the world of fashion with appealing vertical patterns, its dimensional depth and vivacious appearance. The wonderful use of colors in the laminate series keeps interior spaces spacious, open and organized while accentuating structural elements of the interior decoration.
Terra reflects the timelessness of terracotta, the material that saw incredible popularity and was considered ultra modern back in the Art Deco era, with its elegant mosaic pattern. The ‘Matters’ collection encapsulates the modern-day lifestyle with Titan, a high-quality laminate with modern, matte finish. The technologically advanced manufacturing process grants Titan many superior attributes such as fingerprint, scratch, chemical and light resistance, including the ability to suppress the growth of microorganisms.
Stellar stands out with its easy maintenance and versatile functionalities that make it ideal for vertical surfaces such as doors, cabinets and walls thanks to its resistance to scratches. Velvet’s delicate matte texture and classic colors are the embodiment of contemporaneousness and timelessness while its smooth matte finish adds an understated luxurious feel and sophisticated complexity to interior spaces.
Dekodur
Dekodur Distil, the prominent manufacturer of high-quality metallic laminates of German standard, presents its newest collection, ‘FLUX Volume 3.’ Inspired by a contemplation of nature, the transitioning conditions of earth, water, wind or even the elements underneath the ever-changing earth crusts. FLUX Volume 3 is interesting for the way it’s realized as a documentation of different traces of nature. The concept gives birth to a series of outstanding and unique finishing materials, each with a different natural phenomenon as the inspiration.
Lava Series is inspired by movements of energy and elements underneath the earth’s surface, rendering lively, magnificent waves of lava with seven color variations and matte and glossy finishes to choose from.
Inspired by the geographical history of planets that tells stories of the past and present, Crater Series emulates the textural characteristics of craters. Available in four different colors, the materials offer an aesthetic that appeal can be applied to various styles of design.
Aqua Series compares itself to living aquatic mass and its existence as a part of humans’ lives in various forms, from liquid, solid objects to gas. The series comes in two color tones, delivering refined, luxurious beauty that brings design imaginations to life.
The 13 shades from the three collections of FLUX Volume 3 are brilliant results from the use of real metals, which are manufactured, colorized and textured to render functional and aesthetic outcomes of the highest quality while also shortening installation time and processes. FLUX Volume comes in the 4×8’ (or 4×10’ in some series) with the thickness 0.8-0.9 mm.
In terms of physical properties, Dekodur is guaranteed for its high safety standard particularly the deko FireSafe product line, which when used with laminates with fire retardants, delivers level A fire protection ability. Making it a perfect material for public buildings such as schools, kindergartens, hospitals and department stores. Dekodur also focuses on the environmental aspect of the manufacturing processes. The bio metabolite bases result in the low CO2 emission with zero-formaldehyde and phenol manufacturing processes. Not only that, every single sheet of Dekodur’s laminate is made of 100% secondary bio metabolites obtained through circulated resources, making them entirely recyclable.
