It had been nearly two years since the architecture and design sector was deprived of Architect Expo, the annual architectural design and construction technology exposition. The complete return of the expo as an on-site event themed “Co-with Creators,” which took place in late April 2022, felt like a breath of fresh air. Ideas and concepts were presented in new and exciting ways, with the participation of teams of architects, including designers and creatives from many disciplines, as well as activities featured as part of the event’s program.

The 35th edition of Architect Expo will be hosted by the Association of Architects under Royal Patronage in collaboration with TTF International Company Limited. The date has been set for April 25th–30th, 2023, at Challenger Hall, Impact Mueng Thong Thani. The organizers plan for this year’s expo to be a continuation of every facet of creativity and diversity that has evolved in the previous year, with the “Time of Togetherness” theme, which seems and feels different from previous concepts we have seen over the years.

The steering committee for Architect Expo 2023 consists of five chairpersons from five professional associations, namely the Association of Siamese Architects under Royal Patronage, the Thailand Interior Designer Association, the Thai Association of Landscape Architects, the Thai Urban Designers Association, and the Architect Council of Thailand. Throughout the six-day duration of the expo, the “Time of Togetherness” theme will be an eclectic mix of artistry, science, and innovativeness from each field of profession that everyone can enjoy.

Puiphai Khunawat of Creative Crews, one of the chairpersons, explains the genesis of the theme. “Time of Togetherness,” or Tum Thad, a type of Thai salad or somtam that combines all the delightful ingredients, is the topic that embodies one of the most quintessentially Thai characteristics: the food culture. Tam Thad is the dish that represents the coming together of architects from all fields, as well as other creatives and designers, to make this expo the best it can be. Everyone on the organizing team wants Architect Expo 2023 to be a platform that brings people together to talk, ask questions, and find answers. “It’s an endeavor to change our approaches or ways of working so that we can be more collaborative and constructive to one another.”

“From my standpoint, Time of Togetherness is the synthesis of ideas between designers and suppliers.” This year, both exhibitors and visitors will see some outstanding works of exhibition design. Architects and design firms will collaborate with suppliers to create the Thematic Pavilion, one of the event’s highlights. Over 700 Thai and international exhibitors will present a remarkable spectrum of construction technologies and products. This year, we’ve been working hard to compile a wide list of suppliers that will cater to the interests and desires of designers from all disciplines. “The expo in 2023 will be a lot of fun and exciting for everyone,” said Supaman Munka, Managing Director of TTF International Co., Ltd.

The main exhibitions, academic exhibitions, including exhibitions by professional associations and academic institutes, activity and service grounds, academic lectures, and seminars will be among the highlights. All activities will feature stories, ideas, and creative and collaborative approaches by architects from all four disciplines. As a representative of the exhibitors, Prasert Boonyang, Manager of the Digital Printing Department of TPI Polyne (Public) Company Limited, offers his thoughts and opinions on the success of previous architect expos and the upcoming 2023 event. “We were one of the exhibitors last year, and the response was fantastic since many . vVisitors came by to see our booth. This year’s theme is fascinating in that it displays many facets of diversity for everyone’s interest. TPI has a wide range of products that we believe will satisfy the demand of architects from all specializations who will be visiting our booth. We’re also working on new products that will be unveiled at Architect Expo’ 23. So come find out at the expo and let’s have some fun together.”
