Water Incident Rescue Training Center, Bangkok
by Nattawat Panniyom

Thailand has long been connected with water sources due to its numerous rivers and coastal proximity to the sea. Consequently, water-related accidents are inevitable. Between 2012 and 2021, Thailand recorded 35,915 fatalities from water incidents, averaging 10 deaths per day. This trend is likely to increase due to global warming, which has led to more frequent natural disasters.

Water rescue is a crucial and indispensable profession during water-related disasters. Rescuers must be thoroughly trained for such emergencies. However, if the general public were knowledgeable about water-related incidents, it would reduce the risk of accidents and facilitate smoother rescue operations. It is essential that both rescuers and victims survive together.

This project aims to create a platform that brings together both rescuers and the public. It provides a space for the public to learn about water-related disasters and serves as a training center for water rescue personnel. Additionally, it allows the public to observe all aspects of the rescue training, highlighting the importance of water rescue work. The educational areas for the public are integrated with the training areas for rescuers, ensuring a comprehensive and collaborative learning environment.

Creative Center for Rubber Processing, Songkhla
by Thanawat Ngamsrikam

The project concept stems from the issue of declining rubber prices due to an oversupply of raw rubber products exceeding market demand, an increase in production competitors, and low domestic consumption of rubber products in Thailand. Additionally, it addresses the potential of leveraging Soft Power through the creative industry and the development plan for the rubber-based fashion industry to enhance the value of Thai rubber.

The project proposes interior architecture design for a Rubber Creative Center for Processing. This center aims to promote the use of rubber products through creative learning experiences. These experiences will be facilitated by collaborative efforts among farmers, students, local communities, tourists, and designers. The center will offer product design training, workshops, and appropriately designed spaces to maximize learning opportunities and utilization. This initiative is expected to encourage the increased use of rubber products, thereby adding value to Thai rubber.

Recreation Center And Development Of The Visually Impaired, Bangkok
by Chananchida Malaikong

Currently, visually impaired individuals lack recreational spaces or facilities that accommodate their needs, limiting their opportunities to engage with society. This lack of inclusive spaces results in their diminished participation in social activities, fostering a sense of isolation and difference from the broader community. Consequently, negative perceptions about their capabilities arise, affecting their self-confidence and perpetuating the stereotype that visually impaired individuals require constant assistance and are unable to care for themselves.

In light of these challenges, it is essential to propose the establishment of a Recreational and Development Center for the Visually Impaired. This center would serve as a shared space for both visually impaired individuals and the broader community, aimed at transforming attitudes and perceptions. It would provide a supportive environment for the development and empowerment of visually impaired individuals, enabling them to integrate confidently and proudly into society.

A Center To Promote Learning About Environmentally Friendly Products, Bangkok
by Khwanjira Ar-tarn

In today’s rapidly evolving world, numerous products are being developed at a pace that makes waste management increasingly challenging. In 2022, the country generated 25.7 million tons of waste, averaging 70,411 tons per day, or approximately 1.07 kilograms per person per day. This increase in waste compared to previous years has led to significant environmental pollution.

This project aims to promote awareness and education on waste management, particularly focusing on converting waste into environmentally friendly products. It involves studying the formation of spaces to create new learning environments by utilizing intermediary spaces that serve both as thoroughfares and as areas for activities. This dual functionality facilitates both direct and indirect learning. Learning spaces will be arranged randomly to foster experiences and interactions during transitions, enabling greater visibility and participation in surrounding activities. This initiative not only addresses the immediate issue of waste management but also seeks to engage users in meaningful ways, encouraging sustainable practices and contributing to environmental preservation.
