PRIORITY MIXING
AN EXHIBITION AND PERFORMANCE
BY BENTON C. BAINBRIDGE

Priority Mixing is a series of abstract media artworks by Benton C Bainbridge. The black and white moire images are elusive; close inspection reveals intricately interwoven patterns from just a few electronic signals.
Bainbridge uses an analog Video Synth to generate the imagery. Benton assembled a set of unique Eurorack Modular prototypes by Dave Jones (best known for his inventions at Experimental Television Center) into a custom system to create the abstract moving paintings.
Benton C Bainbridge’s time-based media art is made with hardware, harnessing innate physical properties of electrical signals to examine how our perceptual systems respond to the sights and sounds in our environment.
