Gi-ok Joen, born in Korea, is an innovative multi-media artist combining many different techniques; from embroidery to woodcuts and painting to weaving. She uses these diverse methods to touch upon content that is associated with multicultural identity, motherhood, and daily life; referencing her Korean heritage, Chinese aesthetic and Thai life at all times.
