THE BLUE CINEMA

AN EXHIBITION BY NIJSUPA NAKAURAI
BRAND NEW ART PROJECT 2016
RMA INSTITUTE, BANGKOK
DEC 18, 2016 – JAN 31, 2017

Many films with unfamiliar lonely scene inspire a young artist who has just graduated from the Fine Arts Program in Painting, the Faculty of Architecture, King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology Ladkrabang. The oil paintings of Nijsupa Nakaurai come from her impression on many movies’ screens and scenes. Nijsupa chooses the isolated, strange or scary scenes to be the sketches of her creativities. Film is the art of creating illusive images that brings the audience to various narratives.

Nijsupa creates aesthetically and illusively paintings out of movies’ scenes. She paints by observing the different living status, the ambiguity and the loneliness that we are facing in the society. It reflects the image of this era where the  physical relationship can not share warm and secure feelings. Nijsupa modifies the movie’s scene, expands its space and adds a mysterious and lonely feeling through the technique of  oil painting in a realistic style. The space in the painting broadens the living status and creates the illusive world of the artist.
