AN EXHIBITION BY ATIT SORNSONGKRAM
BRAND NEW ART PROJECT 2016
GALLERY VER, BANGKOK
DECEMBER 14, 2016 – JANUARY 15, 2017
Atit Sornsongkram creates illusions through photography techniques to question the realness of photography. All images that we see are created with complicated, and various processes and composed under photographic conditions. He puts forth effort through image editing in a manner similar to the way the painter paints on canvas. However, Atit’s work has a different visual result. His work bothers our perception. It is not smooth like what we expect. To look at his photography makes us question the realness in the image under the neatly composed beauty. We want to believe in what we firstly see but there is that something different from what we expect. Space, still-lifes, landscapes, graphic and abstract forms seem to be a part of these distorted architectural structures. The resolution and the blurred focus with the delicacy in the skill of the image editing make his work to be attractive and mysterious at the same time.
