WINNERS WERE RECENTLY AWARDED IN THE ANNUAL COMPETITION THAT WELCOMES INDIVIDUALS AND CORPORATIONS WHO ARE SELLING AND DESIGNING PRODUCTS FOR THE CHINESE SPEAKING HUAREN MARKET 

Over 3,000 projects from 13 countries participated in this year’s Golden Pin Design Awards, an annual competition that welcomes individuals and corporations who are selling and designing products for the Chinese speaking (huaren) market or community, and the winners were finally selected and awarded last week at the 2016 Best Golden Pin Design Awards Ceremony at Eslite Spectrum Songyan Performance Hall.

Comprised of two categories, the Pin Design Award and the Golden Pin Concept Design Award, the competition granted 465 Design Mark recognitions to works selected for the Secondary Selection stage with the rest of the 66 works in the Finalist Selection being awarded trophies and the option to showcase their works in the winner’s exhibition held at the Taiwan Design Museum from the 25th of November 2016 to the 23rd of April 2017.

Those 66 products and projects of the Golden Pin Finalists were broken down into four categories – Product Design, Visual Communication Design, Spatial Design, and Packaging Design, and showcased within the exhibition providing the opportunity for both designers, students or anyone who was interested to experience and view the winning works firsthand. With the outstanding packaging design from 3YA Design Associates (Taiwan), Tse-Xin Organic Tea Carrying Case,《150 People’s Confessions Of Faith, Best of Golden Pin Concept Design, by Ji ZhenQin, The Prep, Rolling Mortar, Tang Dynasty inspired tea mortar by JIA Inc. and the rest of the works, the exhibition  allowed for  viewers to explore and compare each of the works  in terms of both aesthetics and concept, allowing for one to perceive the overall design trends in the Chinese-speaking community, an attractive market that is quickly becoming the most dominant due to the number of huaren consumers who are now responsible for a full quarter of the world’s consumption.
