ART STAGE JAKARTA IS PROUD TO PRESENT THE INAUGURAL INDONESIAN AWARD FOR AUTHENTICITY, LEADERSHIP, EXCELLENCE, QUALITY AND SERIOUSNESS IN ART AS WELL AS AN ‘ART SQUARE’ OFFERING ART INSTITUTIONS, ORGANIZATIONS, GROUPS, YOUNG GALLERIES, EDUCATIONAL CENTERS AND NON-PROFITS A CHANCE TO PARTICIPATE.
The ART STAGE Jakarta award recognizes the best of the best across the entire art industry of Indonesia, acknowledging the tremendous creativity, passion, commitment, ideas and concepts of the Indonesian art world. The Indonesian Award for Authenticity, Leadership, Excellence, Quality, Seriousness in Art is one of the major initiatives by ART STAGE Jakarta to foster and support the Indonesian art scene and to help increase its level of seriousness and professionalism. The Award covers the entire art ecosystem of Indonesia, recognizing all the important aspects of the art industry. The Indonesian Award for Authenticity, Leadership, Excellence, Quality, Seriousness in Art will present, in a professional and serious manner, 13 award categories that acknowledge the spectrum of the Indonesian art scene. In introducing such wide-ranging categories, the Award is fostering the entire Indonesian art ecosystem.
Furthermore, beyond the fairgrounds at Sheraton Grand Jakarta Gandaria City Hotel, ART STAGE Jakarta will be expanding to the atrium of the Gandaria City Mall with a new section called The Art Square. As a fair whose mission is to foster the Indonesian art scene, this new section of the Fair offers art institutions, organizations, art groups, young galleries, educational centers and non-profit groups a chance to participate in an art fair. For many such organizations, participation in art fairs is generally beyond their means, given the costs involved. However, in line with ART STAGE Jakarta’s mission, the Fair launched the new initiative—The Art Square—that would allow such organizations to take part in the Fair. This is an important step for ART STAGE Jakarta to involve the art ecosystem of Indonesia, making it an exceptional platform for the entire Indonesian art scene, from established players to young and up-and-coming ones alike. Among the participants at the inaugural The Art Square are Biennale Yogyakarta, Jakarta Biennale, Nasi Goreng Diplomacy and Papermoon Puppet Theatre.
The Art Square opens on 9 August and will be on until 13 August.
