MYLANDS began their business in a small factory in Lambeth, a neighborhood to the south of London, in 1884 With John Myland serving as the founder. The business operations are much different today that they were 130 years ago. Before MYLANDS started selling its products directly to users as they are today, the early days of its business focused primarily on wood preservation paint and paint mixing for a group of interior decorators in England, particularly film studios such as the long standing Pinewood Studio, which was first established in 1935 and demanded high quality paints for the construction of sets.
