นิทรรศการวิดีโอศิลปะที่ Nick Yu คิวเรเตอร์ของนิทรรศการ เปิดพื้นที่ให้ผู้ชมร่วมกันสำรวจและตั้งคำถามถึงการวัดค่าความดี-ไม่ดีของร่างกายมนุษย์ตามบรรทัดฐานทางสังคม ผลงานวิดีโอจาก Eisa Jocson, Isaac Chong Wai, Mary Maggic, Rob Crosse และ สมัคร์ กอเซ็ม ได้รับเชิญให้นำมาจัดแสดง ซึ่งเป็นความตั้งใจของ Yu ที่ต้องการแสดงให้เห็นว่าสรีระร่างกายของ ‘Queer’ จะสามารถทำให้ทัศนคติไม่ดีที่มีต่ออัตลักษณ์ทางเพศในบริบทสังคมต่างๆ เปิดกว้างยิ่งขึ้นได้หรือไม่ รวมไปถึงคำถามที่ว่า อิสระในการเปิดเผยร่างกายของเควียร์จะเกิดขึ้นได้อย่างไร

For this video art exhibition, curator, Nick Yu, creates a space for viewers to explore and question the good and the bad of human’s body conventionally defined by social norms. Yu invites Eisa Jocson, Isaac Chong Wai, Mary Maggic, Rob Crosse and Samak Kosem to showcase their works with his intention to express whether the ‘queer’ physical features can broaden negative attitudes towards gender identities in different social contexts while questioning how the freedom of expressing and revealing the queer body can be conceived.

SEASHORTS FILM FESTIVAL 2019

เทศกาลภาพยนตร์สั้นที่จัดขึ้นโดย Next New Wave กลุ่มสนับสนุนภาพยนตร์อิสระและผู้สร้างภาพยนตร์รุ่นใหม่จากประเทศมาเลเซีย กำลังเปิดรับสมัครผลงานภาพยนตร์สั้น ความยาวไม่เกิน 30 นาที จากผู้กำกับที่อาศัยอยู่ในภูมิภาคเอเชียตะวันออกเฉียงใต้ ผลงานที่ผ่านการคัดเลือกจะได้เข้าร่วมเป็นหนึ่งในภาพยนตร์ที่จัดแสดงภายในเทศกาล SeaShorts Film Festival พร้อมกับโอกาสในการแลกเปลี่ยนกับ ‘คนทำหนังสั้น’ จากประเทศต่างๆ และร่วมกันสำรวจเทรนด์ของการสร้างภาพยนตร์สั้นแบบใหม่ๆ เพื่อพัฒนาผลงานของตัวเองต่อไป ส่งผลงานได้แล้วตั้งแต่วันนี้ จนถึงวันที่ 15 มิถุนายน 2562 ติดตามรายละเอียดเพิ่มเติมได้ทาง http://bit.ly/art4d-seashorts2019
The short film festival hosted by Next Mew Wave, the promoter of independent films and new generation filmmakers from Malaysia, is calling for submission of short films (duration not more than 30 minutes) by directors from Southeast Asia. The selected works will be featured as a part of the films showcased at SeaShorts Film Festival. The filmmakers will also be given the opportunity to take part in discussions with directors of short films from different countries and together explore new trends and avenues in the making of short films for future developments of their own works. THE NEW US EMBASSY OFFICE IN BANGKOK
หลังจากช่วงเดือนเมษายนที่ผ่านมา สำนักงานดำเนินงานอาคารต่างประเทศ (Bureau of Overseas Buildings Operations) กระทรวงการต่างประเทศสหรัฐ ได้ประกาศให้ SHoP บริษัทสถาปนิกจากนิวยอร์ก เป็นผู้ออกแบบ New Office Annex (NOX) ซึ่งเป็นการออกแบบต่อเติมอาคารสถานเอกอัครราชทูตสหรัฐอเมริกาประจำประเทศไทย และเมื่อวันที่ 8 พฤษภาคมที่ผ่านมานี้ SHoP ก็ได้ปล่อยภาพแบบจำลองออกมาให้ได้ชมกันเป็นที่เรียบร้อยแล้ว
NOX มีกำหนดที่จะสร้างในต้นปี 2563 และคาดว่าจะสามารถเปิดใช้งานได้ภายในปี 2567 นี้ สำหรับรายละเอียดเพิ่มเติมของโครงการ art4d จะรายงานให้ทราบในโอกาสต่อไป
A little after April of 2019, Bureau of Overseas Buildings Operations of the United States Department of State announced the New York-based, SHoP, as the designated architecture firm to oversee the design of the New Office Annex (NOX) of the United States Embassy in Thailand. On 8th May, SHoP released the rendered images of the design with the construction speculated to commence in the early 2020 and complete by 2024. art4d will be reporting on the future updates of the project.
