There are still a number of people from the older generation who commonly refer to any laminate product as ‘a formica panel’. It reaffirms the long history of Formica as the world-leading designer, manufacturer and distributor of laminate, the finishing material widely used in residential and commercial spaces. Having said that, never let the brand’s long history make you think that Formica will refuse to embrace new innovations, especially when this year’s release of DecoMetal®, with the addition of 70 new designs to the total 117 designs of the continual collection, offering an incredibly wide range of aesthetics that answers to every imagined dream of decorative finishing.

DecoMetal® is Formica’s distinctive collection of finishing materials with unique metal-inspired textures that bring together an incredible fusion of sophisticatedly raw, modern, luxurious finishing details that bespeak the true appreciation of craftsmanship. The laminate products with a myriad of metallic looks are meticulously crafted into 3 series with the given name of Moon, Diamond Antique and Crisp.

The ‘Moon’ series’ associated with brass and copper hues comes with natural textures. The glossy and aesthetically deteriorated textural attributes combine the beauty of copper and turquoise with artisanal concrete details that mimic those created by trowel strokes, recreating traces of beautifully time-warn surfaces that perfectly embellish every space’s stories. The new products in the Moon Series comprise of Moon Light Copper, Moon Turquoise Copper, Moon Dark Copper and Moon Brass, all of which deliver the cool rawness of a workshop space as well as the modern loft vibe.

Equally stunning is the Crisp Series, a result of the amazing recreation of ‘traces’. Pursuing the series’ aesthetic characteristic, Crisp challenges the difficulty of rendering a naturally and finely cracked surface out of a perfectly smooth texture. The process requires a great deal of craftsmanship details and advanced manufacturing technology, creating idiosyncratic finishes that make Crisp the perfect finishing material. The products within the Crisp series include Crisp Rose, Crisp Oxygreen, Crisp Gold and Crisp Anthracite, which showcase distinctive lines and details of natural minerals, whereas  Crisp Antique Copper offers a darker colored tone.

The “Diamond Antique” series is created from a delicate distribution of the colors brass and copper, coated with another layer of metal to create the diagonal axes of a diamond shape. The details collectively ignite interactions of colors, lines, textures and reflected light. Joining the “Diamond Antique” series are Diamond Antique Brass, Diamond Antique Copper and Diamond Antique Bronzetone.

Achieving next-level luxury with Cella, Cascade and Crossline whose coating techniques create unique patterns with a variety of shades to choose from, while the reflective metallic textures bring a visually striking aesthetic to both vertical and horizontal surfaces, adding an interesting feel to every curated space.

DecoMetal® is ideal for both interior design spaces and product design pieces such as table tops, furniture, signage, particularly the types of spaces that requires a high level of impressive visuals such as exhibition spaces or merchandising displays. As one of the most interesting movements coming out from Formica this year, DecoMetal® Collection reflects the brand’s long-standing design philosophy and aspiration to develop new products to fulfill users’ functional and aesthetic demands. It takes place along side the continual introduction of new innovations to Formica’s products’ development as well as maintaining a great awareness in the preservation of nature and the environment.
