“How can we enable design students to move with the fast-and-furious changes of new media in the twenty-first century?” This is ultimate question for design education all over the world. The International Programme in Communication Design, AKA CommDe, within the Faculty of Architecture of Chulalongkorn University, is currently one of the top schools of its kind in Southeast Asia. CommDe’s community has led many of the innovative changes that brought traditional graphic design to the adaptive practices of communication design, which embraces whatever new media emerges as the future unfolds.

art4d chats with CommDe’s Programme Director and his professors about what makes CommDe so competitive as a contemporary design school. The programme’s top-notch alumni also share their often boisterous experiences of study and confirm why CommDe helped shape them as ardent and efficient communication designers who are always ready to lead the future of the international design world.
