Delve Deep into the Nexus of Regional Cultures and Architecture at the 2024 ASA International Forum, featured at this year’s Architect Expo.
The ASA International Forum stands as a cornerstone of the annual Architect Expo, offering a compelling platform that converges the minds of renowned international architects. This year’s forum is an opportunity to deepen our understanding of architectural dialogues across global and local spectrums.
This year’s Architect Expo, centered around the compelling theme ‘Collective Language: Engaging Architecture,’ spotlights the ASA International Forum as a pivotal venue for intellectual exchange. The forum is assembling a diverse group of architects from across the globe to explore the intricacies of ‘Critical Regionalism in Architecture.’ This school of thought champions designs that resonate with the essence of their locations, both tangible and abstract methods, crafting architectural creations that are contextually rich yet distinctly avoid direct mimicry of historical styles and aesthetics.
This year’s lineup of illustrious speakers features:
Antoine Chaaya, a partner, director, and luminary at Renzo Piano Building Workshop (RPBW),
Ma Yansong, the Chinese architect who is the visionary founder of MAD Architects,
Marina Tabassum, the Bangladeshi artist and force behind Marina Tabassum Architects (MTA) and recipient of the Aga Khan Award for her Bait-ur-Rouf Mosque project,
Daliana Suryawinata and Florian Heinzelmann of SHAU, Indonesia,
Erik L’Heureux, the architect, Associate Professor and, Dean of the National University of Singapore (NUS),
Tonkao Panin, a distinguished professor in the Department of Architecture at Silpakorn University’s Faculty of Architecture and the creative force behind Research Studio Panin.
Navigate the multifaceted nature of architecture and its extensive interactions with space, climate, society, and cultural narratives at the ASA International Forum. Scheduled for May 4-5th, 2024, at the Jupiter 11-13 Room of the Challenger Building at IMPACT Muang Thong Thani, this year’s forum promises to be yet another enlightening assembly of ideas and inspirations.
