WHO
We are SUBJECT SUBJECT, a team of passionate designers founded by Pannatat Petchdee and Swinya Chavanich.
WHAT
SUBJECT SUBJECT is an interior and experience design studio. We started our studio with a focus on retail and commercial projects. As a young design company, it’s exciting for us to see our clients’ businesses grow alongside ours. Building strong relationships has allowed us to expand our interests and take on a diverse range of projects, which keeps us inspired and motivated. We have worked on a variety of different kinds of projects including retail, hospitality, wellness and residential.
WHEN
We first began our journey in 2020.
WHERE
Bangkok, Thailand
WHY
We want to create spaces that offer harmony between the materials, the environment, the objects within it, the stories behind each piece and the people who experience the space.
How would you describe your work?
We believe that style is fluid. We are always open to new possibilities and perspectives, yet we strive to be fresh and unique, offering new insights. We think a touch of playfulness can add depth and the right amount of comfort can make anyone feel at home. Our approach is simplicity with a unique twist.
What is your inspiration and guiding principle for each creation?
We often find inspiration in our everyday lives. From what we see, read, listen to and the people we talk to—anything can spark an idea.
What project are you most proud of?
We cannot pick just one project because each one has its unique qualities. Truly, we love every project equally.
Which stage of the design process do you like the most?
Seeing the finished project is incredibly exciting and satisfying—watching lines and 2D concepts transform into 3D realities at a 1:1 scale. Every step has its ups, downs and challenges. But once everything comes together, it feels like every hurdle was worth it, especially when we see our client happy as their visualization becomes reality. It truly feels like we are a part of their journey.
If you could invite a ‘creative’ to coffee, who would you invite and why?
We would love to invite the team from Teaspoon Studio for coffee. We have long admired their fun and fresh ideas, from the crafts-inspired aesthetic of their early days to their recent exploration of new materials. It would be great to have the chance to sit and have a casual chat with them.
