The event has been held this regional exhibition a total of 64 times, and this time marks the 4th event since our space was renovated. This year, “Indi-Visual” is chosen as the theme of the event. By emphasizing each piece’s particularities, they have amassed a body of work unlike any other. By presenting the many facets of Asahikawa craft production, the showcase will be both newly manufactured products from IFDA as well as new offerings from various companies, while once again hosting many popular events, such as panel discussions and the Oda Collection.

Asahikawa นอกจากจะเป็นเมืองท่องเที่ยวในฮอกไกโดแล้ว ยังเป็นเมืองที่ได้ชื่อว่ารวบรวมงานดีไซน์เฟอร์นิเจอร์และช่างฝีมือที่ดีที่สุดของญี่ปุ่นซึ่งตั้งรกรากกันมาตั้งแต่ปี 1890 แล้วด้วยจุดแข็งนี่เอง ทำให้เกิด Asahikawa Design Week ดีไซน์วีคที่เป็นศูนย์กลางของงานเฟอร์นิเจอร์ไม้ญี่ปุ่น ในปีนี้จัดขึ้นตั้งแต่วันที่ 20-24 มิถุนายน ที่ Asahikawa Design Center ด้วยคอนเซ็ปต์ ‘Indi-Visual’
กิจกรรมในงานประกอบด้วย งานนิทรรศการจากเฟอร์นิเจอร์ดีไซเนอร์มือรางวัลทั้งในญี่ปุ่นเองและต่างประเทศ การเปิดโรงงานให้เข้าเยี่ยมชมการผลิตได้อย่างใกล้ชิด และอีเวนท์ที่มีพื้นฐานจากงานเฟอร์นิเจอร์ ไม่ว่าจะเป็นทอล์ก อินสตอลเลชั่น รวมทั้งโปรเจ็คท์เกี่ยวกับไม้คุณภาพดีของฮอกไกโด ซึ่งเป็นวัสดุสำคัญของอุตสาหกรรมเฟอร์นิเจอร์ใน Asahikawa
