งานอินสตอลเลชั่นชิ้นล่าสุดโดย Teresa van Dongen ดีไซเนอร์ชาวดัตช์ เป็นโคมไฟที่นำแบคทีเรียมาใช้เป็นพลังงานทางเลือกในการแปรไปเป็นพลังงานไฟฟ้า โดยเริ่มต้นมาจากการพบว่าดินโคลนในแม่น้ำและทะเลสาบ มีแบคทีเรียประหลาดที่กินไฟฟ้า (Geobacter) ซึ่งจะคายกระแสไฟฟ้าหน่วยเล็กๆ กลับออกมาเป็นของเสีย
ด้วยความร่วมมือกับมหาวิทยาลัย Ghent ประเทศเบลเยียม van Dongen ได้นำแบคทีเรียดังกล่าวหลายร้อยตัวมาบรรจุอยู่ในกระบอกแคปซูลที่เธอเรียกว่า “Bacteria Batterry” ซึ่งได้รับการออกแบบให้ทำหน้าที่ในการปล่อยอิเล็คตรอนเพื่อเป็นแหล่งพลังงานแสงสว่างให้แก่โคมไฟ ประเด็นก็คือแบตเตอรี่ที่ว่านี้เป็นสภาพแวดล้อมจำลองที่แบคทีเรียสามารถเจริญเติบโตได้ เพียงให้อาหารสัปดาห์ละครั้งด้วยน้ำประปาผสมกับน้ำส้มสายชู ลองจินตนาการดูถึงอนาคตอันใกล้ในวันหนึ่งที่โคมไฟจะกลายเป็นสิ่งมีชีวิตที่เราผูกพันด้วย
Electric Life กำลังจัดแสดงอยู่ที่นิทรรศการ La Fabrique du Vivant หรือ Designing the Living ที่พิพิธภัณฑ์ Centre Pompidouในปารีส ระหว่างวันที่ 20 ภุมภาพันธ์ – 15 เมษายน 2019
The latest installation by Dutch designer, Teresa van Dongen, is basically a lamp that uses bacteria as an alternative source to generate electricity. The idea behind the design originates from the discovery that the mud from the bottom of rivers and lakes contain a Geobacter, This microbe produces waste that contains a tiny unit electric current.
Through collaboration with Ghent University in Belgium, van Dongen puts hundreds of this microorganism in a capsule she refers to as the “Bacteria Battery”, which is designed to release electron and function as the lamp’s power source. The main point is that the battery will act as a simulated environment where the bacteria can continue to survive and grow. All one has to do is feed them once a week with a mix of tap water and vinegar. Imagine that in the near future, we will be using and living with not just a lamp, but a creature we develop a personal bond with.
Electric Life is currently showcasing at La Fabrique du Vivant or Designing the Living exhibition at Centre Pompidou in Paris. The exhibition period is from 20th February to 15th April 2019.

เดือนกรกฎาคมที่จะถึงนี้ เป็นโอกาสครบรอบ 50 ปี ที่ยาน Apollo XI ได้ลงจอดครั้งแรกบนดวงจันทร์ ซึ่งเป็นก้าวสำคัญทางประวัติศาสตร์มนุษย์ เมื่อ Neil Armstrong เป็นมนุษย์คนแรกที่ได้ย่ำเท้าลงบนพื้นผิวดวงจันทร์ และกลับมายังโลกได้อย่างปลอดภัย ในวาระครบรอบ 50 ปีของภารกิจอะพอลโล-11 นิตยสาร Volume Zero จากประเทศอินเดีย ได้ถือโอกาสนี้จัดแข่งประกวดแบบการออกแบบสถาปัตยกรรมบนดวงจันทร์ ภายใต้โจทย์อันท้าทายคือการจินตนาการถึงที่อยู่อาศัยของมนุษย์ในพื้นที่ที่ไม่คุ้นเคย นับเป็นการเฉลิมฉลองยุคทองของการสำรวจอวกาศ ท่ามกลางปรากฏการณ์ความสนใจของรัฐบาลจากหลายประเทศและองค์กรเอกชนหลายแห่ง ที่ต้องการตั้งสถานีอวกาศและขุดเจาะหาทรัพยากรต่างๆ บนดวงจันทร์ในปัจจุบัน

This upcoming July will mark the 50th anniversary of Apollo XI’s landing on the moon. The event is considered a significant milestone in human history when Neil Armstrong becomes the first man to ever step foot on the surface of the moon before retuning home safely. On this special occasion celebrating the 50th anniversary of Apollo XI’s mission, Volume Zero, a magazine from India, takes this opportunity to host the Moonception 2019 Architecture Competition with the challenging subject that calls for candidates to imagine human’s habitat on the moon. The event celebrates the golden age of space exploration in the midst of the currently growing interest of the government and other private organizations to set up space stations in order to explore other possible resources on the moon.

A BERLIN – RATCHABURI DIALOGUE DIN CLAY TON
นิทรรศการศิลปะเซรามิกโดยศิลปินชาวเยอรมัน Stefanie Hering ร่วมกับ วศินบุรี สุพานิชวรภาชน์ ช่างภาพชาวไทย ที่มีแนวคิดหลักของนิทรรศการอยู่ที่มุมมองระหว่างสองวัฒนธรรมต่อหนึ่งงานฝีมือ
ในนิทรรศการนี้ Hering นำคอลเลคชั่นงานเซรามิกจากประเทศเยอรมนีและผลงานที่สร้างขึ้นมาใหม่ ที่โรงงานเซรามิกของวศินบุรี ในจังหวัดราชบุรี มาจัดแสดงร่วมกับงานภาพถ่ายและภาพยนตร์สารคดี ที่วศินบุรีได้บันทึกขึ้นเพื่อถ่ายทอดกระบวนการผลิตและเบื้องหลังของการทำงาน บทสนทนาที่แวดล้อมท่ามกลางการจัดวางร่วมกันระหว่างชิ้นงานฝีมือกับสื่อดิจิตอล อาจเผยให้เห็นมุมมองอันหลากหลายที่เกิดจากการแลกเปลี่ยนไอเดียกันผ่านภาษาศิลปะ จากสองศิลปินต่างภูมิประเทศ ต่างวัฒนธรรม
นิทรรศการจัดแสดงระหว่างวันที่ 8 – 30 มีนาคม 2562 ที่ห้องสตูดิโอ ชั้น 4 หอศิลปวัฒนธรรมแห่งกรุงเทพมหานคร (BACC) โดยจะมีพิธีเปิดในวันที่ 7 มีนาคม 2562

Originated from two cultural perspectives towards one form of craft, this ceramic art exhibition is a collaborative project between German artist, Stefanie Hering, with a Thai photographer, Wasinburee Supanichvoraparch.
For this exhibition, Stefanie Hering will bring her ceramic collection including some of her new works from Germany to Wasinburee’s ceramic factory in Ratchaburi province of Thailand. It is here where her works will be exhibited along side Wasinburee’s photographs and her accompanying documentary; a documentation of the production process and background of the project. The conversation surrounding the collaborative exhibition between the installation of handcrafted objects and digital mediums reveals the diverse views materialized from dynamic exchange of ideas through artistic languages by artists from two different backgrounds and cultures.
The exhibition will be held from 8th to 30th March 2019 at Studio 4th floor, Bangkok Art and Culture Center with the opening day taking place on 7th March 2019.
