PODIUM’s brand-new building is designed to be the home of PODIUM Experience Space, the showroom that features the brand’s genuine wood modular kitchen from the BLOC SMITH Collection. The space also includes a dining area furnished with the brand’s furniture, each of which is distinctive with PODIUM’s unmistakable design elements and woodworking details.

The primary concept underlying this building is the well-known principle of ‘Less is More,’ a phrase and concept that is likely to be familiar to many. The design of the PODIUM Experience Space Building places a strong emphasis on simplicity in the interior space, which provides a sense of comfort to visitors through the implementation of an open-plan wall. The use of glass walls, which are installed independently from the wooden columns, allows for a direct and visible presence of the materials’ authentic physical attributes. The structure is enveloped by a glass façade to welcome ample natural light. The dining area is, however, concealed from the remaining functional program for the sake of privacy and for the immersive experiences created by artificial lighting to be more discernible.

PODIUM selects BauBuche as the primary material for the new building’s wooden structure. The material, which plays a central role in the project, is a type of laminated veneer lumber made from locally sourced beech and is exclusively produced by an esteemed manufacturer in Germany. The material serves as a sustainable alternative to reinforced concrete posts and beams, offering a weight reduction of over 50%, which results in decreased expenses in both construction and transportation. BauBuche not only possesses the distinctive charm of German Beech but also provides a high level of fire resistance and an extended shelf life while exhibiting a lower natural bending rate compared to many other types of real wood. By utilizing advanced prefabrication systems of superior quality, the material can be manufactured into prefabricated beams and posts that offer a reduced construction period and enhanced aesthetic appeal.

BauBuche is a sustainable, renewable resource that can be circulated for generations to come. This material is derived from carefully managed natural forests, where the growth of new trees is consistently nurtured to ensure long-term sustainability, a practice employed to minimize any adverse effects on the environment. PODIUM’s new building effectively mitigates carbon dioxide emissions by employing this innovative wooden material in lieu of steel or concrete.

PODIUM Experience Space cordially invites visitors to explore the beauty of authentic wooden furniture by appointment, welcoming individuals who are interested in experiencing the brand’s exquisite real wood furniture collections. Visitors are offered the opportunity to take part in culinary activities using high-quality electric appliances provided by PODIUM’s partner brands. Additionally, they can take a closer look at the brand’s collection of loose furniture, including the oak-wood NEORIENT Table-01 and the latest model of the ATLAS Chair-01 in Burn Black, which showcases captivating natural wood grain details.

The space has been thoughtfully designed to function as a rental cooking studio that is ideal for food photography or filming cooking videos. This versatile space is capable of hosting special dinners between friends and family, accommodating up to 14 guests. Not only that, PODIUM Experience Space also provides a variety of available packages for those who are interested in indulging in a fine-dining experience.
