WHO
SA-ARD Studio is an architectural and design studio founded by Sithanon Cha-aim, focusing on architecture, interior design, and spatial research.
WHAT
We design architecture and spaces through a process-driven approach, integrating simplicity, research, and construction logic to create works that are clear, functional, and enduring.

WHEN
SA-ARD Studio was established in 2020.
WHERE
The studio is based in Samut Prakan, working on projects across architecture, interior, and small-scale built environments.
WHY
We believe that simplicity is not a style, but a discipline. Our work begins with understanding context, users, and construction realities, translating research into architecture that is honest, calm, and meaningful.

How do you define creativity?
Creativity is the ability to ask the right questions before proposing solutions. For us, it is not about novelty or form-making, but about finding clarity within complexity—turning constraints, context, and research into thoughtful architectural decisions.

The Memory cafe

The Memory cafe
Describe your practice in three words.
Simple, Thoughtful, Honest
Where do you go, or what do you do when you get stuck on a project?
We often return to the site and the construction process. Walking through the site, reviewing drawings with builders, or revisiting material samples helps us reconnect with reality. Sometimes, stepping away from the screen and observing everyday spaces—cafés, streets, unfinished buildings—allows new insights to emerge naturally.

Which project are you most proud of and why?
The Rubber[er], The project reflects our belief that architecture can preserve memory while creating new experiences. By reinterpreting the owner’s family rubber factory through contemporary architecture and material honesty, the project became more than a café—it became a spatial narrative rooted in place, history, and construction.

If you could invite any ‘creative’ for a coffee, who would it be and why?
We would choose Keiji Ashizawa. His approach to ‘honest design,’ craftsmanship, and the seamless integration of architecture, interior, and furniture resonates deeply with our own practice. His work demonstrates how restraint, material sensitivity, and discipline can create timeless spatial experiences.
