The meaning of the home today extends well beyond visual appeal. Increasingly, it lies in the way function seamlessly merges with the rhythms of everyday life. This evolving condition formed the focus of Product Launch & Trend Talk, a conversation held on April 24 through a shared vision between EDL, a leading surfacing and laminate specialist in Southeast Asia, and Viefe, the Spanish brand known for its expertise in architectural hardware. Drawing on insights from the global design research ‘Kitchen Trends,’ the talk examined the shifting definition of the kitchen, from a space once shaped by the logic of industrial perfection to one that now operates as a Domestic Hub: open, flexible, and deeply connected to the intersections of innovation, materiality, and contemporary lifestyle.

The event opened in an intimate and welcoming atmosphere with remarks from Patpimol Chotsawetanan, Managing Director of EDL, who shared her perspective on the creation of flexible spaces through the integration of advanced surfacing materials and decorative hardware details. As a curator of refined materials from around the world, EDL aims to raise the standard of kitchen and furniture design in Thailand, moving beyond conventional limitations toward the creation of spaces that carry emotional as well as functional value.

The conversation then continued with Marc Font Vergés, CEO of Viefe, who articulated the brand’s vision of finding a ‘Balance between Technology and Warmth,’ a guiding principle in the transition toward design that feels more alive. Within this framework, knobs and handles are no longer treated as secondary details but as the ‘jewels’ of architecture: small yet essential elements that mediate the relationship between users and furniture. It is through the precision of these details that a design finds its final sense of completeness. Beyond their ergonomic role in responding to the body, handles and knobs also contribute to the identity of an interior, giving character and distinction to the spaces they inhabit.

The stage was then passed to Pepa Casado, Trend Expert at Futurea, who shared her perspective on the use of Natural and Noble Materials. These are materials that retain the spirit of nature, such as tactile wood grains. For Casado, such qualities are key to creating a tactile experience, transforming the home into a place of rest, restoration, and genuine emotional well-being.

This collaboration becomes a clear reflection of a more complete design ecosystem. EDL’s surfacing materials meet Viefe’s distinctive, high-quality architectural hardware to create spaces that are both flexible and dynamic. Together, these details help define a new standard for complete design, one that not only enhances quality of life but also delivers a sense of beauty with lasting, timeless appeal.

The ‘final touch’ comes through materials that remain connected to nature, carrying the story of Viefe into dialogue with the depth of EDL’s surface innovation. These different material dimensions allow every moment within the home to become more than something seen. They become something genuinely felt. The arrival of Viefe x EDL is therefore not simply a presentation of trends, but an invitation to reconsider the role of detail: the small, often overlooked elements whose tactile presence can quietly shape everyday life at home, making it more fluid, more aesthetically refined, and more sensorial than ever before.
