Beds But Not For Sleeping is part of a large photography project entitled The Architecture of Sex which documents all the places (love motels, swinger’s clubs, massage parlors, men’s clubs, brothels, videochat studios) in Cali, Colombia where people have sex outside of their own home.

Kurt Hollander is originally from New York City, lived in Mexico City for many years, and has been living in Cali, Colombia for the past 12 years. He is a writer and fine art/documentary photographer, and has most recently exhibited his work in the 2025 Venice Biennale and in Documenta 15.
