After Warehouse 30 has stayed quiet for a while, this place will probably be buzzing with life again with the addition of its new spot, Aurum Gallery, a gallery by Clifford Joseph Price or ‘Goldie’, the multi-talented British artist and the Drum N’ Bass pioneer.
Goldie had initially gained exposure from being a graffiti artist. His artworks have been exhibited internationally such as in the UK, New York, Miami, in the United States, and he is definitely considered an acclaimed figure in street art. Lately, Goldie has started working with the Pop-Art style, mixed with a glimpse of street art, and his artworks are usually portraying the past experience of his life.
After living most of his life in the UK, Goldie and his family decided to move to Thailand as he was attracted to the culture and the vivacity of Bangkok. In the 7 years of living in Thailand, he has seen an ongoing advancement in the Thai contemporary art scene, which in a way, persuaded him to launch a new art gallery in Bangkok to exhibiting street arts. With the expansive area and the high-ceiling space, Aurum Gallery can easily accommodate artworks on a colossal scale as well as displaying performance arts and installation arts.
Aurum gallery focuses on exhibiting contemporary arts from international artists such as Vhils, Belin, Saturno, and from regional talents such as P7, Benzilla, Jecks. The gallery is intended to be a platform for elevating local artists and with the intent to introduce street art to people. Apart from exhibiting artworks, the gallery is also aimed for hosting exhibitions and workshops as well.
This brand-new gallery in Warehouse 30 will open its doors and greet people with the exhibition of celebrated street arts such as ‘Mickey Confinament’ from Belin, ‘Apache Girl’ from Goldie as well as artworks from the ‘Matter’ series created by Vhils. It is such an exciting occasion to have a new gallery which will animate and provide a fresh perspective to the Thai contemporary art scene.
