The images of the spaces curated by Polish art director, Peter Tarka showcasing Formica’s new product line depicts the present and future of spaces through the collection’s three concepts; Fluidity, No Boundaries and Engineered Designs. Each concept is interpreted from different aspects of people’s daily lives, their professional roles, as well as harnessing creativity especially in a world where changes are becoming more unpredictable and constant.
When a house is a space one uses to live, play and work, Fluidity is materialized to represent a modern home where visually pleasing, calm and delicate surfaces reveal details of natural lines and curves. The marble’s texture is accented with metallic veins, rendering color tones and emotional impacts as the space radiates with softness and delicate feelings, yet bears no contrast with the color scheme that conveys the modern, digitally-driven world. Everything embraces and complements each other, creating a spatial experience of profound and intriguing dimension.
No Boundaries picks up on natural attributes of wood and nature for the creation of a co-working space. This multi-functional area gives off a modern yet natural look, stylishly merging a workspace to a home while providing emotional tranquility and encouraging new inspirations. The multi-functionality also encompasses to flexibility that can accommodate new functional requirements and changes.
In order to reach the group of people who have an interest and confidence in the power of technology and creativity, the approach Engineered Designs takes is that of bold colors and graphic shapes rendered from a systematic thought process, unabashedly expressing unconstrained individuality, unbound possibilities while provoking users thoughtfully.
Besides the three concepts, the new 2021 Asian collection, which is launched and marketed as the finishing materials of the future, includes some highly interesting qualities such as the Protect+® product line’s anti-microbe ability that can sterilize 99% of bacteria and molds. The improved bendability of products under Formica® offers greater adhesion, meaning they can fully cover the curved surfaces. The collection brings a new aesthetic dimension to surface finishes with Metallic Marbles where natural stones undergo a process that causes metal to oxidize, creating colors and veins that fuse into the stone’s natural patterns, forming intriguing delicateness and glamour.
The collection is a manifestation of Formica’s user-oriented philosophy and approach. The brand’s product developments focus on beauty at the emotional and internal spirituality level. It’s the kind of aesthetic that meaningfully expresses individualities while introducing new innovative properties. Collectively, these qualities do not only better fulfill design and functional requirements but also put greater consideration on longevity, safety and physical appeal, enabling a state of equilibrium within a space that can be both visually satisfying and adaptive to different surroundings and changes at the same time.
