WHY
Why not?
How would you describe your work?
Balanced and well-crafted.
What is your inspiration and guiding principle for each creation?
I mostly start from issues that I notice. Then I find different approaches to convey the message either with satire, escapism, or practical problem solving.
What project are you most proud of?
‘Circus’ and ‘(No)Where’ were my first proper illustration collections. The concept, aesthetic and execution turned out to be something I liked to represent myself in a non-being form.
Which stage of the design process do you like the most?
It depends on my mood. Researching is disorienting but also eye-opening. Sketching out my ideas is fun and challenging because I try to visualize a certain image that will make sense with what I research while also being beautiful in its own right. Because I prefer to work more thorough sketches (so that I don’t have to change the details when the actual materialization process is carried out). It’s also why this particular process takes a lot of time and is quite mentally exhausting, but it’s fun nonetheless. Executing is time-consuming but therapeutic because it’s not mentally draining, given that everything is thought out during the sketching process. But the actual creation process does take time and requires a great deal of concentration.
If you could invite a ‘creative’ to coffee, who would you invite and why?
I know I’m going to be so awkward having a conversation for the first time with someone I look up to while being sober. So my answer would be with my dear friend, P.Ta (Ta Kasitipradit, @strawberrypadthai), a conversation with him always leave me feeling so inspired and excited about what yet to come, while at the same time very calm and grounded.
