WHO
Because there is not any main character in my work, I feel like it could be adaptable and indefinite.
WHAT
The Fartboil account page has been established for a long time. Sometimes, I draw and post them on it as if it is my archive where I could look back on.
WHEN
I have started drawing since I was a child but I liked it periodically. Sometimes, I wasn’t drawing for many years then I felt like I would like to so I was back to draw again. I have working on it more consistently over the last three years.
WHERE
Mostly, I work on my iPad and canvas.
WHY
When I was applying for the architecture aptitude test to attend university, I remember I drew only portraits. There were few buildings in my perspective section. When I started working on illustrations, I focused on people or semi-human drawings.
How do you define your own style of work?
Personally, I never defined my own style at first but many people started calling it ‘pop-art’ until lately, and when they ask me about my style I answer that mine is pop-art because it seems easy for most people to understand.
What inspires you and what principles do you apply to each project?
Maybe, my boredom. Many times, I just sit still and don’t know what to do so I pick my iPad to draw something. But lately, it has become more like a deadline.
Which project are you most proud of and why?
It might be the first canvas painting exhibition because when I first started, I was experimenting since I lacked physical painting experience with both equipment and finishing a painting. When I painted it, I was satisfied with my finished work.
Which part of the process do you enjoy the most during work?
When my work is finished.
If you could invite any ‘creative’ for a coffee, who would it be and why?
Robert Crumb because I like the darkness and comedy in his work. I felt like I want to draw something after watching his documentary film.
