On April 24, 2025, Panasonic unveiled Partio, its latest series of frameless switches and outlets, at a press conference held at the AUA Building on Ratchadamri Road in Bangkok. Designed to integrate seamlessly into interior environments, Partio—a name derived from Part of Interior—embodies the brand’s vision for a more fluid, unobtrusive approach to home design. The event brought together Panasonic executives and the design team behind Partio, who shared the future direction of the product line and its role in elevating residential aesthetics. Guest speakers from acclaimed studios Studio Miti and studiotofu also joined to discuss  insights into current design trends.

The Partio series was developed with the intention of bringing meaningful change to daily life—modernizing a familiar product through the concept Seamless Perfection, Timeless Creation. Featuring a minimalist, frameless design just 9 millimeters thick, Partio is as visually refined as it is practical, balancing clean aesthetics with everyday functionality. The collection is available  in four tones: White, Black, Grey, and a newly introduced Serene Grey, a soft neutral designed to harmonize with a wide variety of interior styles. In addition to its design versatility, Partio supports energy-saving technologies and can be integrated with other equipments and systems.

After the opening segment, the event continued with a short panel discussion featuring Padermkiat Sukkan, Co-Founder of Studio Miti, and Weerapat Chokedeetaweeanan, Managing Director of Tofu Co., Ltd., moderated by Emisa Raksiam, a landscape architect at Lana Design Studio. The conversation underscored a shared design approach: one that emphasizes sensitivity to context—be it architectural surroundings, community dynamics, economic factors, or natural risks. The recent earthquake in Thailand, in particular, served as a reminder of the growing importance of environmental awareness in the design process. As the speakers concluded, they emphasized  the need to view each project not in isolation, but as part of a broader, interconnected whole.

Design in 2025, increasingly shaped by advancing technology, demands a level of intelligence not only in the tools themselves but also in how users engage with them. As designers, the pursuit of perfection and  timelessness—qualities that remain at the core of meaningful design, is never ending. According to Weerapat, this pursuit closely mirrors the concept behind Partio, which is built around these very principles. Often, design circles back to simplicity—an aesthetic language that resonates universally. But simplicity, he noted, is not synonymous with plainness. Rather, it challenges designers to find a delicate equilibrium, a standard of clarity and restraint that ultimately makes a design memorable.
