Indonesia is not only rich in traditional culture and ancient art, especially in the eastern part of Java, but is also emerging as a key player in contemporary art. In the west of the island, Jakarta is home to a vibrant gallery scene and numerous art festivals, none more prominent right now than ‘Art Jakarta’.
Art Jakarta is a contemporary art fair that brings together artists and galleries from across Asia, with a special focus on Southeast Asia, aiming to elevate them onto the global stage. First launched in 2009 under the name ‘Bazaar Art Jakarta,’ the fair adopted its current name in 2017.
This year, Art Jakarta 2025 presents over 75 galleries from 16 countries across Asia and beyond. The fair is built around a thoughtfully curated program designed to offer valuable insights into current trends and issues in the art world. Art Jakarta seeks to deepen appreciation for contemporary art while strengthening both local and international art communities—making it a must-attend event for every art enthusiast.
Art Jakarta 2025 will take place from 3–5 October at the Jakarta International Expo (JIExpo) in Jakarta, Indonesia.
