MOM studio was co-founded and is creatively led by Naewnay Satumtira and Supawan Aothongthip.
WHAT
MOM studio undertakes projects in both interior and architectural design across all building types, and also offers specialized prop styling. While the studio’s expertise spans many areas, it has a particular focus on residential design. We place great importance on active listening, ensuring we can navigate and balance the diverse needs of each resident. Our service covers every stage of the process, from concept design, demolition, and renovation to construction, fit-out, and even curating homes for a seamless move-in experience.

WHEN
Our journey began in 2012, collaborating on design competitions and freelance work, before officially establishing MOM studio in 2015.
WHERE
The studio is based in the Saphan Khwai–Ari neighborhood of Bangkok and offers design services throughout Thailand.

We love what we do. For us, design is both a service and a livelihood. It’s a profession that sustains not only ourselves but our entire team. MOM studio is a collaborative space for learning and growth, shared with our in-house team, partners, collaborators, clients, and interns alike.

Bringing a client’s thoughts and dreams to life through design, realizing those designs in reality, and always grounding them in a shared, practical sense.

Which project are you most proud of and why?
The Fool speakeasy is the first cocktail bar we have designed in 13 years. It was a challenge that pushed us beyond our comfort zone and proved to be an enjoyable experience from start to finish. The project was shaped by a strong collaboration between our team, the project owners and mixologist, who developed the drink menu alongside the interior design. The clients placed great trust in our interpretation and taste. Despite facing numerous construction challenges along the way, our combined efforts brought the project to completion.
Which part of the process do you enjoy the most during work?
The early phases when needs and concepts begin to unfold visually and the direction of the project begins to reveal itself.

If you could invite any ‘creative’ for a coffee, who would it be and why?
Supawan: Dr. Nart Fongsmut. She’s a specialist in elderly care, who is both a client and an inspiring figure in our design work. Her creative vision bridges medicine, social impact, and real estate development. Working with her has given us deep insight into the specific needs of seniors, as well as the physical and emotional care required for both the elderly and their caregivers. Her perspective opened our eyes to market opportunities and our own team’s potential. This led to the creation of Agewell Design by MOM studio, our specialized design and home renovation service tailored for safe, comfortable living in retirement.

Naewnay: Atchara Burarak of iberry. I admire her as a brand builder. In my opinion, restaurant businesses and design businesses share similar service-based DNA. Both rely on managing ‘people’ and ‘ingredients’ within the constraints of time and place. Just as the same ingredients can create a variety of flavors and evoke different emotions under different brands, our design and decoration process is tailored so that our team can deliver unique outcomes and experiences to reflect each client’s identity and needs.
