FORM + FIELD

Form + Field is driven by a simple core concept: two frames, one sentence. The project pairs photographs of ordinary, system-built spaces from different cities and years that complete each other when viewed together. Despite the varied locations and timeframes, these environments often follow the same rule set: color that instructs, geometry that organizes, and hardware that keeps things running. While most people pass by these everyday details, the focus here is to stop for the unintentional compositions and bring them into conversation with one another through visual rhythm and a single connecting phrase.

Originally published on formfield.repponen.com, this photographic series was also brought to life as a self-made, hand-assembled ring binder book that mirrors the project’s concept by piecing separate physical components together until they form a cohesive whole.
