Le Labo’s olfactory journey began in the historic town of Grasse, nestled in the French Riviera along the Mediterranean coast. This birthplace of inspiration paved the way for the establishment of their inaugural lab in New York, a space that embodies the elegance and artistry of traditional perfumery techniques. In its nascent stages, Le Labo introduced approximately ten fragrances and one scented candle, Santal 26.

Santal 26 soon evolved into a home spray, which subsequently inspired the creation of a companion perfume. The fragrance formula, anchored by Australian sandalwood, is an intricate blend of cardamom, iris, violet, smoked cedarwood, spice essential oils, and musk. This exquisite composition, comprising 33 ingredients, culminated in the fine fragrance known as Santal 33, which made its debut in 2011.
The Santal scent is crafted to transport users on a sensory odyssey through expansive natural landscapes. Its evolution has seen it expand into various formats, including body care products and space-enhancing items such as the 1.2 kg Concrete Candle. This candle, meticulously crafted in a perfume lab to accentuate the presence of essential oils, is encased in a concrete vessel handmade by artisans in Maine, USA. Utilizing recycled stone dust, each vessel boasts a unique and captivating appearance, making it an ideal adornment for homes, spas, museums, or exhibition spaces.
